Afternoon all! Well, my mothers help has gone Australia for a well earned 3 week holiday....I am bereft. Because of the commute, trying to do my job without either a DH or any domestic help is nearly impossible. I have taken today as leave, but have spent it mowing the grass, replying to work emails and doing a series of online grocery orders to correponde with the various get togethers we are hosting in December. What a fun 'holiday'... (Did manage both a run, and half an episode of Garrow's Law whilst eating lunch though...so not all bad!) Will have to go into work for the next 2 days and because I can't leave until after 8am (earliest drop off time at the 'Early Bird' club at school) the traffic will be at it's peak - and it will be 1030 before I get to work. Nightmare. At least my mum and dad are up for a few days to help next week.
Bunny - so good to hear from you. Not surprised you are tired. Only a week to go!
LTEC - Leather and lurex with legs like yours...?? Hell, yeah!
DT - As Bloss intimated, I love a good maxi! And that is a good maxi....although I suspect more on you then me. I am relatively slim (ish) but a pear, and that looks like it might advertise my least favourite bits (hips and arse!) I do think it is very elegant though. I actually think I prefer round toed shoes with it.
Explorer - I like the idea of shirt dresses, although will admit I don't have one. I would have thought a belt is probably needed, unless you are coltish and long limbed.
Dolcee - I like the sound of your suggested outfit very much.
I am going to see DH next weekend where he works. It is 'International Families Weekend' - we are not one of the aforementioned families, however a lot of people on his course are from overseas and the idea is to have a big get together where they show off their national food etc. We are staying with parents of friends who I haven't met before. They have a huge country pile with a cottage in their garden that they use for guests! So, I have to dress for 'a relaxed supper' with people that DH describes as 'nice, but frightfully frightful'.
Will have to think about that one! The next day is the Families Day which is apparently quite casual, but as it is a military thing, there is always an unwritten code. I grilled DH, but he wasn't much help...'No tits or arse out love. But try and look hot as I have told everyone you are.' Thanks. And lunch with friends the next day. Phew.
Right, sorry about the huge me, me, me post. Will stop.
