Sorry to hear about your dd dolcee. Hope things improve soon.
Glad to hear your family were better behaved this time ollie.

I wonder what an avid and wise Christmas party would be like. Where would we have it? What would you wear? (Complete fantasy obviously!)

Can't say I did; of the comedy variety?? Count me in for a South-East get-together.

I collected ours yesterday - the glaze made it all seem a lot better somehow.

The excitement of de-lurking has kept me up - all that sleep when the baby sleeps business seems to have gone out of the window.

I love the Oasis dress esher, but I am again being drawn to things that are totally un-bf-friendly!

MarshaBrady · 13/11/2010 23:20

I looked at those links Everything. I can't tell what I am!

Most likely spring or summer, (or autumn?) due to hair and eye colouring, but beyond that....

blossoming · 13/11/2010 23:21

esher, summers wear paler variations of the winter palette, so lilac not purple, French navy not navy, pale pinks and blues. The girl I did my colours with was summer. Looked dreadful when she put her black cardigan back on.
Baby is teething. I'm never normally up this late!

roary thanks for the tip. Lucky dh had kept the original tiffany ny receipt with sizing info.

OP posts:
Romanarama · 13/11/2010 23:31

Hmm, have read the Kettlewell pages and think I'm an autumn. I really must see one of these colour consultants, though dh and I both agreed the other day that I look generally fabulous these days (he doesn't know why Wink tee hee)

MarshaBrady · 13/11/2010 23:34

Roman I feel I have missed something! You are sounding fabulous, what did you do Smile

LetThemEatCake · 13/11/2010 23:36

Well this is very exciting. Love it!!

You have reminded me to blog - has been weeks. So here if anyone fancies a squizz. Zembo you may recognise someone in it Grin

bloss thanks re colours. It's idle curiousity, but it does make you think. See, I would say that I look okay in orange - in fact, in most colours other than yellow, certain reds and really washed-out pastels. Hmmm.

Right we need to find red a bfing wardrobe. Subject close to my heart after last year's efforts!!
(red dd has taken to wearing her Princess Fiona headdress from Halloween as a normal hairband. 'Tis very cute. Her thieving ways, less so Grin)

Zembo · 14/11/2010 06:11

Cakey Grin Grin

That chloe dress you tried on is beyond fabulous, doesn't look like the same one on the NAP website though - the one you tried looks better. Please can you find me a 90% cheaper copy? Also, you, Janice and the Mellonhead on FB look gorgeous, not surprised you got a load of compliments. And the lipstick! - if you add any makeup to your daytime ensemble it should be lippy I reckon (although gorg anyway) makes you look stunning. I have Janice, red lippy and hair that's not far off Mellon, how come I don't get all these compliments think you have some of that MM x factor going on you lucky lady!

Romanarama · 14/11/2010 07:31

Marsha became imaginary friends with you, that's all!

MarshaBrady · 14/11/2010 07:50

Ah yes of course! Me too Grin

OllieWollieWoo · 14/11/2010 08:23

Morning all.

Loved reading last nights posts - how funny about LTEC and Reds (hello to you) encounter! I like to think of us all as little dots on the W&A version of a marauders map from Harry Potter - all going about our daily lives and sometimes crossing paths with each other but not always knowing it! (Gosh, surreal talk at this time on a Sunday morning!)

Had no idea that spanx had a hole either Roary. Ewwww!
Loving all the delurking thats going on too!

Feeling better and brighter today. The boys left their shoes out for Sinterklaas last night with an apple and carrot for his horse and woke up to 2 little speed boats in them. Made me laugh at 7am by sticking their heads up into the fireplace/chimney and loudly shouting Thank You Sinterklaas! Sure the neighbours appreciated that!
Speaking of presents - a friend's son has this fingerprint set and its really good :
here - was in the Cox&Cox catalogue but cheaper here on Amazon.

OllieWollieWoo · 14/11/2010 08:52

Question - do any of you have a Kindle and if so are they worth having? In 2 minds whether to get one or not. (Already chosen the the apple green cover tho!!!!)

MarshaBrady · 14/11/2010 08:55

Just had to google what that was Ollie, so probably not for me. Grin

Roman I forgot to say, has your Jil Sander jacket arrived, do you love it?

OllieWollieWoo · 14/11/2010 09:00

LOL Marsha - I didnt know about them but someone at Book Club had one and raved about it. Not sure if I would miss holding an actual book tho!

VerityBrulee · 14/11/2010 09:05

Morning Smile

Got up to work on a project, but it's much nicer here! This interior designer came in to talk to us during the week, she was lovely, but her outfit and luminous orange hair Shock made me think, if that's what she wears, what on earth does her house look like? Turns out her taste in interiors is a bit more, em, flambouyant than mine!

Don't have a Janice, but do have Cakes red shoes, which are fab. Took off the bow and hot glued a silver button on instead to cover the mark. Love them with an all black or navy ensemble, and they are really comfy. I have really taken to heels this year, thanks to this thread, there's no going back now!

Have been very wise in purchases lately, got navy cashmere Anya Hindmarch jumper on ebay
which feels like a fluffy cloud. There really is such a difference in grades of cashmere. It's all soft, but some of it is just delicious, and not always the most expensive I find. One of my fluffiest is from John Lewis, via ebay!

My bargain of the week, was this Orla Kiely silk scarf. I'm not a fan of the oilcloth bags (have they been on the Mumsy thread?) but I love that particular print, the colours are a bit off IYKWIM! Anyway saw the scarf in Brown Thomas last sat for 95E, came home, googled it, found one with a pen mark on it reduced to 40E, and had it around my wrist on Wed Smile

I have been so looking forward to the Lanvin H&M collaboration, but a bit disappointed owith what I've seen here. I'll still be outside the shop at 9 though, it might look nicer in RL.

I've still got a bit of an obsession with the jigsaw bag with the stars. I think Tracey saw it in RL. It drives me nuts when companies don't put pieces on their website, iF it's featured in Vogue that's bound to create an interest, why not make the most of it? It's the same with COS, and Russell and Bromley, come on, move into the 21st century, you'll make more money!

EIE I really feel for you, you have made such an effort, you have done all you could possibly do, It's not your fault. Start making plans for yourself, see the CAB, when you know the financial reality you'll be able to work around it. It will make you feel better to take control of the situation and move on. You know you deserve better Smile

Oh Vin Sad You are the main reason I try to catch up every night, to see how you are doing. The other night when I saw the word 'curfew' I felt so angry for you. I have dug out this thread. I know it's long, but it's really inspirational. I posted on it myself about my memories of the day my mother left my father, and the wonderful, happy life she, and I, went on to have. The thing is, your P, like the woman on the thread's, has ground down your self-esteem so far, that you accept as normal what everyone else regards as abuse. It's not your fault, but you need help to get out. In Molls case, going to a counsellor was crucial, and I think it will be for you too. Could you try to find someone close to work you could see at lunchtime? You might not need many sessions, but you need someone to hold your hand at the beginning. PLEASE consider it vin, you and ds could be living a different life by Christmas. You have had so much thrown at you in the last few years, please, put yourself first NOW, don't wait any longer, you have waited too long already. > Moll was back a few months ago wondering what to wear to the Chelsea flower show, she has a lovely new man and her life has been transformed. That will be you soon. BTW, you made me LOL with your description of dress down Fridays Grin another reason I could never work in an office!

Bloss love your crafting, was so sorry I missed your photos, by all accounts you looked gorgeous Smile How I wish I had time to Shred would love to be toned and pert!

OWW so sorry you're trip didn't turn out as you planned. Why don't you plan a weekend in the new year, something to look forward to, tell your family you'll only be in London on sunday, and spend fri and sat doing what YOU want. Thanks to you our freezer is full of shortbread and various cookie doughs in anticipation of a marathon baking session in a few weeks Smile

Cake LOVE your hair, and Tracey I will be purchasing that hair thingy, it looks life changing Smile Hoping your dream house will come on the market any day now!

Dolce sounds like you looked amazing the other night, as for the lack of knickers, well you've got to do what you've got to do!

to everyone, and hello to delurkers. This thread is so great, I love those moments when I think "wait til I tell the W&A girls" Grin

Now, must do some work!

MarshaBrady · 14/11/2010 09:06

I'm soppy about books. The shelves are full of Carver, Camus, Chekhov, Calvino (all those C's!) Pessoa, I am hopeless these days of course but having the actual books are nice.

I wonder why they raved about it, must be good for the person to say they love it, I do love my iphone (great for bf'ding and mning)....

lupo · 14/11/2010 09:08

I am a lurker on this thread and read it daily. Someone, I think GHOUL wanted a janice in grey, just to say I have it in a dark grey - bought off their websita about six months ago. I think they had one on ebay recently.

VerityBrulee · 14/11/2010 09:08

Sorry for mammoth post Blush

Must try to get back to little and often!

Morning Marsha and OWW, enjoy your Sundays Smile

MarshaBrady · 14/11/2010 09:09

Style up a storm Verity! Grin

OllieWollieWoo · 14/11/2010 09:20

Lupo - hello! Janice in grey sounds lovely - lucky you! Can't remember who wanted it in grey but they mentioned looking at Mint Velvet - they now have this version reduced in their sale section - has a jersey back and silky front and could be the one thats not such good quality tho (er, not one of my most useful posts I think!):
here

hellsbelles · 14/11/2010 10:01

Real life/MN colliding - how thrilling.

I also think Tracey and I ordering and getting the anglomania at the same time (without previously linking to it) is rather Grin...I assume we'll all start getting AF at teh same time soon as well...isn't that what happens? Wink

Spanx hole! I have a pair that doesn't have a hole...are the fakes?! I suspect it's because they are the smaller version (sort of tummy only) so they aren't that much bother to pull down. I'm another commando refusnik - but very impressed with those that do...DH would be thrilled if I was daring enough.

We were due to have a visit from the in-laws today - and it's been cancelled as MIL is poorly...I'm actually disappointed...I feel quite mean saying this as I know how many of you have evil MIL's...but mine is a total delight. Salt of the earth type and too kind for words.

So we are going to get a lazy day - maybe brave Wagamamas later.

Fleecy · 14/11/2010 10:22

Enjoy lovely relaxing Sundays everyone!

Lovely to hear from you verity

hells not all spanx have them - the slips don't for example. But the ones that are like shorts on the bottom half do.

Hello de-lurkers.

See you all later.

LetThemEatCake · 14/11/2010 10:38

Fab to hear from you lovely verity!!

Morning to everyone. Quick qu' - what was the A&W verdict on leopard and stripes? Am currently in 7s, Breton, bling and debating whether to go nude or red heels with Marant styley boucle or leopard flats with camel or red coat

Dont want to look ott as having lunch with pg friend who is unhappy about weight gain and don't want to be a shit show offy friend. So advice appreciated!

DolceeBanana · 14/11/2010 10:38

Lazy day here too... although am making christmas cake...and flapjacks...not for me of course. Wink

MIL fine here too...quite gracious and pleasant...it's FIL who is difficult, in the way that he says the very first thing that enters his head...sometimes amusing, often not!

Sorry, I must have missed something...EIE sorry to hear about what's been going on...big hugs...Smile

I am clueless about Gap's sizing...how does it work? Am size 8...
