Sorry to hear about your dd dolcee. Hope things improve soon.
Glad to hear your family were better behaved this time ollie.

I wonder what an avid and wise Christmas party would be like. Where would we have it? What would you wear? (Complete fantasy obviously!)

carciofi I am a big fan of red bags and have just realised that I don't own one at present ...

oh, and what do you all think of this - I am drawn to its slight Halstonesque qualities

roary · 13/11/2010 22:00

I remember you Red! Boy or girl?

redllamayellowllama · 13/11/2010 22:07

Hi roary, your maternity jeans tip was spot-on; the Citizens saw me through pregnancy nicely. A girl, Nancy, who is now 9 weeks. I really love the second jumper you linked to - looks like one of those things that would quickly become a staple (the things I usually bypass in favour of, say, lace dresses from Peacocks and then end with a wardrobe full of clothes, yet nothing to wear)

LTEC I love that dress, very Halston-esque indeed.

Zembo · 13/11/2010 22:09

Gorgeous dress Cake will show off your beautiful colouring, shoulders and skinny arms (oh and not forgetting legs)

Roary i was told I can't wear orange (which was news to me) and I'm a very obvious winter -although with cool undertones whereas Cake you look very golden to me. I do like chocolate brown though (def not tan)
cakey what's going on with all this patent stuff you're buying Grin?

LetThemEatCake · 13/11/2010 22:09

god, sorry. Me again. Remembered two more things.

As self-appointed Cos ambassador (yes, it is a shame they are not online) I would say esher - check out the nude long sleeve t-shirty blouse thing with a kind of teeny rosette cluster shoulder detail. Sorry crap description, but think it is very you

(BTW, I have the black bib necklace - though the cream looked a bit 'wedding on a budget')

hells re compliments from dh. Out last night, receiving some admiration from both sexes Blush. Friend jokingly says something along the lines of "God have you really had 3 children??" and then turns to dh and says "you're a very lucky man aren't you?" His response - "why?"

Angry Grin

LetThemEatCake · 13/11/2010 22:09

red do I know you from, um, elsewhere??!!

redllamayellowllama · 13/11/2010 22:13

I would say so - was a little shy regarding the etiquette of such a thing. You passed on the lovely Tam Tam to me.

MarshaBrady · 13/11/2010 22:20

Haven't read all posts. Sorry Grin too many

but have clicked on links.

Esher I do rather like that Marant-like dress you bought! What is it like on?

AllBuggiedOut · 13/11/2010 22:22

Just a quickie...

Cake the dress looks fab. Will be interest to read what bloss says about you as a winter - is winter very much about contrast, so likely to be people with eg pale skin and dark hair?

roary so chuffed to see you learning to love a new colour!

And at the thought of commando...

I will hopefully return later, in part to search the lace dress links to find a good (cheap!) navy one. I also fancy a navy shirt if anybody has spotted a good one anywhere.

Oh and clearly need evening-janice footwear. Went for opaques and boots last night which was ok but a bit dull. Again, not too £££ though.

Oh, and I now want names for all my dresses Grin

blossoming · 13/11/2010 22:23

ltec, it's odd. I'm the snow white of winter, pale with dark hair. But zembo is also a winter and she's Asian. Also, forgive me, but Oprah Winfrey looks amazing in winter colours. I was so clueless before and had a lot of brown and coral and my wedding dress was ivory! No cream, no winter white, just pure white it should be. You have Celtic heritage as well as Asian don't you? I think you could well be a winter. Your love of pink gives it away!

Having said that, I don't suppose you were in a cafe with a craft twist last week? If not, there was someone who looked a bit like you there (I'm not hugely weird - LTEC introduced me to her blog a while back).

get out of town red - were you in B in G??? I was with dd..... last Friday.....????!!!!

did we speak?? were you sitting in a corner?? with 2 other adults?

redllamayellowllama · 13/11/2010 22:46

It was you! I was with my sister and the babies; it was DS' 2nd birthday and we were meant to be going to Mudchute Farm but the weather curtailed it somewhat. Your DD made a swipe at my purse Wink and I only clocked you as you were leaving. I tried to explain to my sister who I thought you were and she was all Hmm. She doesn't have kids yet.

notyummy · 13/11/2010 22:48

Reality and the W & A thread collide! How exciting....

roary · 13/11/2010 22:49

Still reeling over pee holes in spanx. May have nightmares.

MarshaBrady · 13/11/2010 22:49

Excellent! I love these fleeting moments.

Esher and Hf had one before.

eshermummy · 13/11/2010 22:52

Cake - thanks for Cos tip. must make special effort to get to one next time am in town - sadly no branches around here Sad

Marsha - Oasis dress not bad for £55. I am 5 3 and it is long enough to wear as a dress on me (ie w/o leggings) although above the knees. I am a size 8 (probably a small 8 on top, very narrow shouldered and small boobs but with slightly bigger hips. In an ideal world the XS would be a bit smaller at the shoulders and I'd have another 0.5cm at the hips but it is passable. The wool part is nice and soft. I think it looks quite £££ on. The sweater part is a mouse grey rather than the silver marl it looks online. The chiffon ruffles are pretty, the animal print is delicate.

Keep meaning to say, I was never that interested in the "colours" stuff before but this thread (and Bloss) have got me all intrigued and am seriously considering......I am thinking that as my colouring is the complete opposite to Bloss I must be the polar opposite to winter i.e. summer no? What can summers' wear?

LetThemEatCake · 13/11/2010 22:52

But that is so weird!!! I can't quite picture you, I remember the moment but was somewhat frazzled having just realised that our rare hour of "mummy & dd" time had cost £38 (I only joined in to set a good example!! trust me & dd to choose the 2 biggest items...) and then had had the "Okay, you need to come back now" call from dh who was with the boys at the DG centre.

Sorry about your purse Blush

Hope your ds had a great birthday. I wish you had said something!!

BelligerentGhoul · 13/11/2010 22:52

I tried the navy Janice dress on today and it was very, very flattering (especially on my bum!) but navy doesn't do a lot for me and I didn't know what to wear over it. I didn't realise that there was a stripe version.

Wish they did it in dark grey. I tried something similar in Mint Velvet (grey, naturally!) but it was really unflattering and badly cut in comparison to the Janice one.

eshermummy · 13/11/2010 22:54

Roary, don't worry, we've all agreed never to to use the pee-holes Wink

MarshaBrady · 13/11/2010 22:55

Excellent sounds fabulous Esher!

And I love the idea it can be dressed down in a Marant-y left bank fashion.

Will give it a whirl soon.

redllamayellowllama · 13/11/2010 22:57

It was over in a flash - you came in and went out again quite quickly, am guessing you must have come back for your crafting. We were right by the door.

That place is a bloody rip-off; fleeced for two Christmas decorations that, let's be honest, aren't going to set the tree alight. But DS enjoyed it. The Fireworks party in the evening, not so much..!

LetThemEatCake · 13/11/2010 22:59

no no we had just done our handiwork (did you clock dd's head gear btw??) and will go back to collect this week - am hoping to meet MM (Vino is back at work now Sad) so would be lovely if you came too!!
