Night yangy

monkeysmama · 09/11/2010 07:25

Morning ladies

Cakey I was very unimpressed with the IO pegs and couldn't imagine who they might suit. The material meant I almost didn't bother trying them on. Going back!

Thanks for scarves advice. Will look today at zara.

Anyone seen any low heeled grey boots for me?

monkeysmama · 09/11/2010 07:26

What Shock that Bloss likes the stripey Janice Grin.

AllBuggiedOut · 09/11/2010 08:08

Knee-high grey low-ish heel here. Haven't seen IRL but good price.

notyummy · 09/11/2010 09:21

Yangy - good skills on the ebay purchase - sounds lovely. As I may well be incomeless shortly *(well at least a large proportion of my clothes spending income anyway!) then I must get ebay savvy.

OWW - meant to say sorry that your weekend didn't go to plan. It is so frustrating when you have been looking forward to something isn't it?

Fritzi - Hope work settles down.

Libra - Come and tell us all the baby news. Please!

Roma - Good to hear from you and glad you had a nice time. How is work?

hellsbelles · 09/11/2010 09:29

oh I love the 2nd DVF too. I spotted it a little while back and fell in love with it...but I'm banning myself from any more 'party' dresses for a bit. Hope a matches code appears for everyone that wants it!

roary · 09/11/2010 09:52

I can indeed engage in some JCrew fowarding, but I would want to be able to try the dress on...

2 random thoughts for today:

  1. why are there no nice long sleeved tops out there? Why does every store have pages of short sleeved tops? DO THEY THINK WE ARE LIVING IN THE TROPICS??????
  1. I am sure that the wardrobe person on Mad men, aside from genius, is in to seasonal colours. Was watching last week's episode to see JOan dressed in all my wow colours, Megan the gorgeous receptionist is in winter colours, BEtty is a summer....hilarious. I can now see why my mother, a good 1960s American gal complains it's hard to find colourful clothes in the shops nowadays. Can you imagine such a rainbow of colours in the office these days?
vinvinoveritas · 09/11/2010 10:02

Agree roary! too many short sleeves and a big woolly cardiga over the top doth not complete the outfit

I also have to confess that aside from the very occasional pink/red slip-up, if I am having a 'colourful day' in the office it means I am wearing charcoal grey instead of black. No, really it does

ltec thaks for your post, I'm sorry I drag it onto here, you're all so very wise and avid lovely that it kind of feels like you 'get it' iyswim. Anyway I know you are completely right- it seems so hard to actually do it, but in the grand scheme of things I will be skipping around wondering why I wasted (5 so far) years with such a horrible person. Agh.

plum well done on finishing the work!

Oh zembo and carciofi are you tall or short? I have SO MANY pairs of maternity jeans that I ended up not wearing, but all are reasoably short-legged. Longest 32'', shortest 29'', black jeans and blue jeans, boot cut and skinny/straight. Size 27 James Jeans and Paige jeans and sz 28 too.. let me know if you're like them (gratis! They are sitting there and I can't be bothered to ebay them and certainly don't want more babies with P!)

blossoming · 09/11/2010 10:26

I may have to ask dh for a Mad Men box set for Christmas!

On that subject, I am trawling the Phase Eight sale site and have so far earmarked:

va va voom and blingy, for mother's group karaoke night in golf club.

sober with silver sequins for chapel service

emerald embellished shoulder, I think plum has linked before for dad's birthday.

feathers dress I already have for boxing day, when I shall be entertaining 20 in laws, plus us 4. So will be running round in flats, lucky this dress is short.

Any codes?!

notyummy · 09/11/2010 10:31

Loving those dresses Blossoming. My mind is boggling about the golf club mothers group karaoke. I assume a lot of alchohol is needed..? Or is that just me!

traceybath · 09/11/2010 10:39

Lovely dresses Bloss - particularly like the emerald one and imagine that would look amazing on you.

I too like LTEC am hankering over a sequin mini skirt.

Have mums drinks on thursday night which I need to figure out what to wear for - possibly black skinnies and grey silk leopard print blouse.

Also have mums xmas night out soon - ooh the glamour.

vinvinoveritas · 09/11/2010 10:40

wow bloss I love all of those dresses, great work!!

I love the green one- I have green/slightly hazel eyes so green really suits me but I don't have anything green in my wardrobe anymore, I used to have lots of emerald tops/dresses but they were tiny so I charity binned them years ago. Hmm

I have a memorial service to attend (well I might attend) next month the black sequin dress looks good for that kind of thing, not too sombre, mildly festive.. something about the sleeves bothers me, but I may be overthinking this [typical!]

blossoming · 09/11/2010 10:43

Yes, buckets of alcohol needed notyummy!

tracey, emerald is one of my wow colours, and I have nothing in it. From the look of it, I'd have to shorten it a bit though.

monkeysmama, I am to stripes what yourself and tracey are to leopard, and notyummy is to maxis!

So now I have £344 worth of Phase 8 in my basket and £6.50 in my (prada, those were the days!) purse. But I do love some fantasy shopping!

vinvinoveritas · 09/11/2010 10:48

But I might buy it anyway it's DD's name- gosh I'm a soppy fool for marketing, and the service is one for DD and others. Can always send it back if rubbish. Thanks for finding it bloss
Am joining bloss on hunt for a code Grin

ReineDeSaba · 09/11/2010 10:49

Gorgeous frocks blossoming I particularly love the green one.

vin is it that the sleeves would look odd if even slightly wrong lenghtn on arm because of shape and detail..

ABO description of boots on asos site black though photo does make them look grey.

vinvinoveritas · 09/11/2010 10:49

a big code!

ReineDeSaba · 09/11/2010 10:51

I didn't notice the dress's names..dd2 has the unshortened version of that name..didn't realise your dd's name too..v pretty(I am biased of course)

vinvinoveritas · 09/11/2010 10:51

Yeah I'm not sure of the shape at the end.. I am definitely overthinking this. Would also be good for a 'days after christmas.. lunch with distant relatives' kind of dress for me I think
See- wise!

What I'd rather get is the vavavoom dress but I sadly have nowhere to wear it and my post-BF cleavage is in hiding for the moment Blush

blossoming · 09/11/2010 10:51

I know what you mean about the sleeves vino. I have a problem with any sleeve that can't be shoved up to my elbows, or that isn't already 3/4 length. But I think, for the occasions that we have in mind, it could be deemed elegant, no?
We were also invited to a memorial service at the hospital, for all dcs who have died in the past year I think. Dh said no. I'm relieved. I couldn't cope with other peoples grief aswell.

PlumSykes · 09/11/2010 10:52

lovely sequinned top just in at Outnet.

blossoming · 09/11/2010 10:55

And while I'm at it, the Wit lady has highlighted a Lily shaped hole in my handbag collection.

ReineDeSaba · 09/11/2010 10:56

Gosh bloss that sounds heartbreaking..I think it would just be too much..your dh did right..this is a hard enough time for you as it is Sad
