Bloss, BUGGER. Have made it totally public and will then take it down and try to figure out how to make it visible to mumsnet mates only.

THank you LTEC. Hair longer now.

We have had Bluey the Penguin go on an Adventure and return. Seriously, you have to buy this book, it will explain the return to P:

tatty ratty

Now I read to my kids I can see why so many of our family catchphrases etc going up were lifted straight from favorite books.

MarshaBrady · 04/11/2010 22:10

Roary you look lovely! And it is a lovely picture if you both.

blossoming · 04/11/2010 22:10

roary, yes you are gorgeous. From the look of the photo, I'd say we had similar colouring. But then, you're wearing autumn colours, and you look great! What's your background again, did you say Scottish?

VerityBrulee · 04/11/2010 22:11

LetThemEatCake · 04/11/2010 22:11

Roary Terrific!

LTEC Try some fruit stains. Your dd loves fruit! Will not suggest blueberries - sensitive subject.

You can also try and wear the fur down a bit with an emery board??

Aw, shucks, thanks all - it's nice to know that you know what I look like when I post clothing queries!

Bloss I am Canadian, my dad is from Tyneside and my mother is American, her family has been in the States for generations so goodness knows what ethnic mix she is! (other than fairly boring Caucasian). See, I think that some of the winter colours would really suit me but I did have 11 double stars at 100% in autumn. Apparently my status as Blue Autumn means I can wear some summer things which might explain my magenta. I wished she had explained that bit better, my friend is a Burnished Winter, whatever that is!

blossoming · 04/11/2010 22:26

roary, I was thinking maybe you had some red hair somewhere in your heritage that would account for your autumn colouring. So are you going to follow her advice?

LetThemEatCake · 04/11/2010 22:30

OMG yes read Emily Brown the other day too!!!

P just wants her Lally back Sad She said the other day "catty is my favourite toy but only until Lally comes back and then Catty will only be my 2nd favourite toy because Lally is my best toy"

bloss yes and no! I am going to try all the new colours but not abandon my old favourites I'm convinced work on me (fuschia, magenta, anda bit of black). Isn't that wine in my jacket a winter colour? It's not in my swatches. Also I really don't buy the no black ever apparently even mascara for autumns! So I'm going to use my new colours and some of the old. Font think any if my old colours were awful anyway. :)

notyummy · 04/11/2010 22:48

Blossoming - TY for the lovely compliment that I am the body double for the Asos model Grin Alas, same height, but at LEAST a size larger!

Fritzi - Point taken about the maxi. I will resist. Have bought a whole load of Xmas pressies, and am about to spend £350 insurance excess on the car tomorrow so really shouldn't be spending anyway...but I may consder those ASOS grey wdges I linked to. they are the right colour for my stripey dress (and others), plus they are only 3 inches high, and all the other wedges I can find seem to be at least an inch higher than that which puts me in 'Land of the Giants' territory.

Mrsj - Your story about poor DD and her permanently wakeful doll made me Grin

Roary - You both look gorgeous in that photo.

Ladies - thank you for the doll suggestions. I am taken with the Corolle and emailed suggestion to DH. They have a nice selection dont they? Great to find something that bridges the gap between a 'baby' doll that DD was adamant that she didn't want, and the scary Bratz style things that seem to be everywhere. (Apologies to those who have Bratz loving DD !!)

Roma - Hope you are ok!...and Libra...fingers crossed for you!

notyummy · 04/11/2010 23:04

LTEC - Can quite understand the lost favourite toy trauma. DD has 'Mo' that was VITAL for at least 3 1/2 years of her life. She got it as a Xmas pressie for her first Xmas from SIL and we struggled to find a second 'emergency Mo'...but ebay came up trumps. I have posted a pic of her and Mo together on my profile!

Have you read Dogger? One of my favourites...and surely so appropriate for DD now??

DH has bought DD this. He has just emailed me to confirm, so your advice has been most useful.

I had a lovely 30 minutes with DD earlier on reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Such a magical book and she is TRANSFIXED! I remember loving it when I was a child and its so nice now when she is of the age to start enjoying things like that...we are starting all the Roald Dahl as well. Already done The Crocodile one but not the 'proper' stuff. She listened to the audio book of James and the Giant Peach with DH when he drove back witrh her from my mum and dads last week, and she was utterly mesmerised apparently...which has got be a good thing for a looonnngg drive!

blossoming · 04/11/2010 23:14

Dh home safe. Night all!

Ooh yes Yangy - we are doing The Enchanted Wood and The Wishing Chair. I'm not as keen on them, but she loves them! Can't wait until she is old enough for The Twins at St Claires and First Term at Malory Towers...then I might steal them off her!
