It's lovely

It's a dry cleaning nightmare

Kids and sticky fingers would ruin it

But shall I buy it (say YYYEEEEESSS):

Lizzy I have money to spend on new clothes and he has just given me ££££ to spend on 'nice underwear, You need to dress from the outside in Canyou' Shock Blush [wonders what to buy]
Waedigirl I like your thinking

Amanderrr · 18/10/2010 11:46

I agree with you about a bag Waedigirl. I bought a gorgeous sequin Prada clutch and have yet to use it but I like knowing it's there. You never know when a 'Ferrero Rocher with the Ambassador' invite will drop through the door so best to be prepared.

Hanette ~ Really, if you like the coat then hang what anyone else thinks and go and try it on. You might find that it looks fabulous on you!

canyou · 18/10/2010 11:52

Amanderr is right dress up put on heels and go try the coat on, even do as animula did, bring it home for a holiday and if you like it keep it and if not return it, Just keep it in a suit carrier to protect it whilst you decide

hanette · 18/10/2010 12:16

Right - i think the best solution os for met op go and try it on in person rather than my usual online order. If it makes my heart beat faster, it's mine!

if not i'm loving the handbag route (or maybe some very very nice shoes)

MN is great Grin

Good idea Hanette.

TraceyBath says it looks lovely in the ad campaign but it's not selling itself well on their website so go and try it on.

The faux fur collar and lack of buttons (I do like a coat to have buttons) might not make it suitable for popping to Sainsbury's in but if it suits you it might be worth getting for glam arrivals at parties over Christmas and the New Year?

LoopyLoupGarou · 18/10/2010 12:29

I don't know what's wrong with my eyesight today, but I thought the title said "the most dangerous goat in the world".

Like the coat though! (but faux fur is still a no-no in my book).

Romanarama · 18/10/2010 13:07

I like the coat but there's no way I'd buy it. I have a white sort of puffa coat (v.elegant version) and it gets grimy sleeves very quickly. It's supposed to be dry clean but I machine wash it - it goes in the wash approx every second time I wear it.

You'd end up not wearing it because it was grubby or spending ££££ at the cleaners. Better to get something similar in camel which would go longer between cleans.

traceybath · 18/10/2010 13:38

Grin at Lizzy.

Love how we've gone from ice-queen to Russian prostitute.

Rannaldini · 18/10/2010 13:46

howwible

hanette · 18/10/2010 22:35

Now there's nothing more irritating than people who ask for advice and then ignore it...

I tried it on and it was even better in real life. Reader I bought it Wink Grin

Thanks for everyone's help though, very theraputic and I have dusted off an old sensible black coat I've not worn for years for when Polar Express is in the dry cleaners!

animula · 18/10/2010 22:52

I hope you have many happy wears and that it warms your winter. Smile

hanette · 18/10/2010 22:56

Thank you! :-)

littledawley · 18/10/2010 23:07

Hooray! You bought it. I wanted you to buy it by merit of the name 'polar express' only! I have a bright pink dressing gown style coat that I've now had for about six years- I love it and although I probably only wear it ten times a year, I always get comments and cpw it will probably work out to be a bargain in the end.

Enjoy!

hanette · 18/10/2010 23:20

littledawley I love the idea of pink dressing gown style coat!

Polar will definately get a Christmas Eve wearing!

I look at that coat and think of Joan Collins.

Im getting this in grey

TethHearseEnd · 19/10/2010 17:06

It is strikingly similar to a Primark one I saw on This Morning this morning... Here

Primark one is beige though. And about 50p.

EdgarAllInPink · 19/10/2010 17:24

The Primrk one is still £50 and not that nice. I do prefer the STella Mccartney - although the Asos on tethhearseend is a bit similar (less nicely shped and swishy)

FunkofFortyThousandYears · 19/10/2010 17:33

Bollocks.

I thought the thread title was 'most beautiful cat'

[hgrin] sorry as you were

BridesheadRegardless · 19/10/2010 17:49

That coat is lovely.

It'll become known as your 'don't touch mummy!!' coatGrin.

EdgarAllInPink · 19/10/2010 18:23

there is now a white winter coat on my profile - i was going to say it had survived wear unscathed but 1) i don't wear it any more 2)i noticed many small marks on it when i actually looked
and 3) it smells of the pub i last wore it in.

i was going to offer it to the op, but see she has decided to buy the dream! (and, its not as good as i remember it..)

carriedababi · 19/10/2010 18:57

i like it but i quite tarty things

TethHearseEnd · 19/10/2010 19:12

This is nice
