Do you wear clean clothes every day?

The 'What are you wearing' thread has got me thinking. Do people put on a completely fresh outfit every day (not talking underwear btw, that's different! - but outer layers) ... do you wear once and launder ... do you wear once, hang up again and launder when the clothes need it .... or do you wear the same thing for however many days til a wash is needed?

Just wondering ... Grin

I will wear a top for 2 days MAX if on the outside, one day max if next to pits.

Trousers - depends. 2 days usually, jeans sometimes go 3 or 4 depending on what I've been doing and how dirty they are.

Skirts - when they are dirty.

yes, I wear clean clothes every day. Clean does not have to mean fresh on that morning though.

I aim for trousers/skirts to do a minimum of 2 wears, and jumpers/cardies likewise. Spills and sniff test not withstandning.

Tops next to skin, clean every day, smells otherwise (unfortunately, think my deodorant must be rubbish), some days even have to change top halfway through Shock, trousers every few days, cardi/jumper when visibly dirty or smelly

jeans/trousers/skirts - 3 or 4 days
tops next to the skin - 2 days max
cardi's/jumpers - 3 or 4 days

Used to change everything every day but got sick of the piles of washing.

I must confess to looking then, if something still looks ok I do a sniff test, embarassingly usuall realising as I do it that im right in front of a window Blush so I guess my neighbours think im a real smeg!

Well said, moogalicous. how come every one's so fastidious and organised? Some clothes in our house seem to go a while between washes. And lots of stuff stays for ages in the laundry basket unwashed. I'm not even going to tell you how long it is since the bedding was washed...

PaulineCampbellJones · 08/10/2010 19:13

I'm not really fastidious. My office is one of those buildings that is hotter than hell so otherwise I would be a bit whiffy.

hattymattie · 08/10/2010 19:19

Tops 2 days maxi - 3 to 4 days trousers, skirts unless looking skanky - same for knitwear. PJ's (admits guiltily like Viva) one week - better change my filthy habits!!

Tops every day at work - if I'm at home I would go longer in theory, in practice DS snotters on me so every day.

Trousers for as long as possible but DS snotters on them too, so newly washed every day.

When he has a cold I used to get through three pairs of trousers before I got out the door. Now, I dress myself last before we leave.

Maryqueenofchocs · 08/10/2010 21:23

I am from the wear and wash immediately brigade, although jeans I will wear for 2/3 days at a push depending on what I am doing.

I do constantly have a wash mountain though and dh thinks I wash stuff far too quickly....I think he's OCD so it all balances out in the end Grin

Tops have to be clean every day (I am still sweating like a teenager at 27. Ho hum). A cardigan (esp a cashmere/pure wool one) might go 2-3 wearings before needing a wash.

Trousers normally go at least 2 wearings, unless DS or I throw lunch down my front.

DP is insane though. He literally never sweats, certainly never smells, but if he wears something for an hour or two, it has to go in the wash. Sometimes I sneak them back in the cupboard, he never notices Grin
