5"1, 10st 2 and a size 10-12

lavenderhoney · 20/03/2015 18:52

I'm 5.4 and weigh just over 9 stone. I'm a ten, because I have a large bust which won't shrink no matter how much exercise I do.

Before dc I was an 8, but I'm not as toned as I was.

Judydreamsofhorses · 20/03/2015 20:38

Really interesting thread. I'm 5ft 6 and weigh just under ten and a half stone - ten top and 12 bottom here. At my heaviest I was 11stone 8 and wearing a 14 bottom and 12 top. I'm a 32D bust, 28 waist and 37 hips. (Just got the tape measure out!)

blondiebonce · 20/03/2015 20:43

5ft 4, 9 stone 6lb and a 10- topshop, new look, miss self ridge etc

dollybird · 20/03/2015 21:28

I was 9st 9 in Jan and was wearing 10-12, being a definite 12 in more fitted stuff like dresses with zips. Now down to 9st and back in 8-10 stuff. Bizarrely, i have two size 8 dresses that still fitted before, just look better now. Five years ago I was under 8 st 7 and 8's were a bit loose. Would like to be 8st something again, even if it's 13.5!!

Notagainmun · 20/03/2015 22:04

When I was 9st 7 (a decade ago) I was a size 10 or 12 depending on the store.

burnishedsilver · 20/03/2015 22:09

I'm the same weight but a little taller.
I'd expect youll be a petite 10 or 12, depending on the brand.

LoveVintage · 20/03/2015 22:28

I'm 5'3", 10 stone and am usually a size 14 on top - 32H boobs - and size 10 on bottom half. Dresses, I usually need a 14 to accommodate boobs but sizes vary so much. I ordered two work dresses in the Next sale in a 14 and they were massive on me.

Grantaire · 20/03/2015 22:36

I commented on this thread FIVE YEARS AGO. I have had a pregnancy, a baby and raised him to 3 and a half in that time. I weigh exactly the same though...

chickydoo · 20/03/2015 23:06

It is interesting. I'm taller 5ft 7 (ish) I weigh 8 stone 5lbs ( well did this morning, maybe not now after the family sized bag of m&m's I have just consumed) I wear a size 8-10 ( 30D 26 36 )
I am always surprised at people who weigh a stone or two more than me fitting in to the same sized clothes. I am reasonably toned, I don't know, can't work it out really.

nooyearnooname · 20/03/2015 23:09

I'm 5ft 4 and 10st and I'm a 12, but can get away with a 10 at good old m&s

21pc · 21/03/2015 01:35

persephone I carry weight exactly the same as you but am 5'3''
I must just be incredibly dense too. At about eight and a half stone I wear size 4 jeans or they fall off me!

However when I was much heavier around 80-90kg which I think is about 12 stone I still only wore 14-16 so think I must just be dense

BigFatFurryCatPuss · 21/03/2015 11:04

I'm 5'2 and 9st 7lb and i'm a size 10.

Totallyaddictedtoshoes · 21/03/2015 13:46

This thread is really interesting. I'm between 5'3 and 5'4 and weigh 9 stone 9. I have quite a small frame and wear size 8 (occasionally) and 10 in dresses (which I wear most often), tops and skirts, but sometimes a 12 in trousers tho I very rarely find a pair which fit well as my weight is all on my hips and arse, my waist is 27 inches and my bra size is 30f

nothruroad · 21/03/2015 15:14

I'm 5'2 and weigh 9st 2lbs - I wear a size 10 top and a size 12 or more usually 14 trousers. I have a small frame but apparently a giant arse. Or maybe I shop in the wrong places.

BackCrackAndNappySack · 21/03/2015 15:16

A pretty comfortable average size 12, but occasionally a ten, depending on where I'm shopping.

missmartha · 21/03/2015 15:24

Yes, I'm amazed that at 10 st. anyone 5'4" can get into a size 10.

I'm 9st and wear a 10, just about. I wouldn't feel comfortable in anything smaller and anything bigger looks big. Body sizes are very interesting. We all wear our fat in different places.

Naturally I'm a size 8 in M&S.

houseofnerds · 21/03/2015 15:34

I am lolling that Persephone posted on this zombie thread, but wondering whether dress sizes in stores have changed in the last five years?

For the record, I am this height, and there is no fecking way that I would get into a ten at that weight. Nor a 12. And a 14 is seriously snug. With an additional half a stone, I have to go to 16 or 18 in dresses to feel comfortable (although I do have an abhorrence of tight fit)

I guess my fat is a lot less dense (rofl) than some of you... Despite being the biggest yet strongest in my TRX class!

houseofnerds · 21/03/2015 15:35

I wonder what size dress the op wore to her Christmas party in 2010?

PilchardPrincess · 21/03/2015 15:36

I'm 5'3 and 9 12, have lost 2.5 stone over the last couple of years.

I think sizing depends enormously on your shape and where you shop.

I am a 12 really, but can be a 10 on the bottom, at the moment. I am a small build and an apple, small bum and hips but medium boobs. My weight is all on my torso basically on a small build, so even though I'm definitely a bit fat (for me, I used to be 8 stone) I can get into smallish clothes. I am aiming for 8.5 stone which will be about right for me, I always used to be fairly teeny.

PurpleDancingTurtle · 21/03/2015 15:54

I'm 5'3 and am pregnant at the mo so don't know how much I weigh but was 9.7ish when I fell pregnant. Am wearing all size 10 mat clothes. I have been 10st and was 12 bottom and 8/10 top. Extra weight goes on my hips/bum/legs. I need to be 9.7 or below to be a 10 on bottom comfortably. I have small boobs and small waist so am an 8 on top normally. I look very out of proportion when I gain weight. 9.3-9.5 is probably my ideal weight (realistically achievable) I was 8.12 on my wedding day but that took a lot of effort and is not achievable to maintain with my current lifestyle.

Treesandbees · 21/03/2015 16:01

After DS it took me ages to loose the weight and spent awhile at 9st 7lbs. I was a size 12 then but I went down to a 10 when I got to 9st 3lbs ish. I've got a small back but huge boobs so that always made me look bigger on top. Pregnant again so god knows this time around!!

FoodieMum3 · 21/03/2015 20:29

I'm 5ft 3 and 9 stone.
Size 8-10 trousers, skirts and knickers.
Size 12 tops and most dresses too.

Barefoot789 · 21/03/2015 20:35

I'm 5'2" 9st 7lbs and I'm a size 10-12. More like 12 on top due to boobs.

bluesbaby · 21/03/2015 20:46

I'm about 5 foot nothing and the doc weighed me at 9s3lb the previous week... I'm an 8 but can't shop in certain places because of my shape. Zara for example, size 8 is too small for my thighs, but size 10 is always too baggy for my waist. I have a small hourglass figure which is a pain with the current trends for straight cuts. All those scandi styles look terrible on me.

Carry most of it on thighs, bum and boobs. Have a lot of muscle.

Going by the size other people are never works Smile i know people way lighter and taller than me that are 12s!
