i am 5ft 2" and just over 9st and am a size 12, when i was heavier, 9st 9lbs, i was a 14.

there is no shop in the land where i can fit anything smaller than a 12, not even good old m+s

i run 3x a week, 5k usually and am a low carber

i am not some flabby biffer

well congratulations to everyone who manages to be a size 8 or 10 at 10 stone, i would love to know how you do it

chibi, vanity sizing is in there, but I think it's also proportions and weight distribution, as someone else said.

i think i will need amputating to fit a size 10 lol

Definitely depends how big your boobs are! AS big boobs weigh a lot.

i was 9 stone 7lb 6 weeks ago and my boobs aren't that big. I'm also straight up and straight down. (SO UNATTRACTIVE I make myself sound!) But I was size 14. I lost 7lbs and I am a size ten now. But as a pp said, maybe I am not a 'proper size ten'.

I am size ten in next and m&s. Who does a proper size ten? karen millen?? I can't afford that shop, so it's no wonder I don't know I canfit in their ten or not!

I'm 5ft 3" and weigh around 9st 5lbs. I am a size 10. But I was also a size 12 at the same weight a year ago. I am now much, much more muscular and lean and a completely different shape. Weight's the same though.

I am a 12 in most things,occasionally a 10 in loose cardigans/trousers.
14 would swamp me.

I'm 5ft 3in and 8st 12lb, and a size 8-10 depending on fit and shop. Was 9st 7lb for a few months after having DS2 and a 10-12 at that weight (usually 12 on top, 10 on bottom).

Am always intrigued by people who a are bigger on top than on bottom -is it all down to boobs or do you have particularly small bottoms?

i am a size 10 but depending on the shop i can be a 12. i carry most of my weight on my belly and i have broad shoulders, so my tops tend to be a 12 even if my trousers are 10.

I'm 5'2 and weigh about 9 st 7lb. I'm a 12 on the bottom half (10 for some M&S stuff) and 10-12 on top (depends on the store). 34B boobs.

I'm around this weight and you sound like a similar build to me (34DD/E chest, 29" waist, 39" hips).

I'm a comfortable 12 in most shops. (M&S sizes are really big so I'm sometimes a 10 in there.)

For anything with buttons or a tailored cut I'd recommend someone of my build to buy from somewhere like Bravissimo where the clothing is cut to accommodate larger breasts while still fitting normally elsewhere.

Alternatively, I sometimes buy a size up and get tops or dresses altered to fit me. (I find that if you wear tops and dresses in 14/16 just to accomodate a large bust they tend to gape at the armpits and swamp the waist.)

At the mo i have a small waist, big boobs, and big bum and legs, but not for much longer

I'm 5 ft 3 and 9 1/2 stone and I'm a size 12 in most shops.

It would be interesting to know what measurements people have as well as their weight, I get very confused by all this.

For the record, I am 11 stone and 5foot7 and I have just bought a size 10 dress in topshop, admittedly it is generous on the boobs and free on the hips but fitted on the waist, have worn it twice and got a lot of compliments.

I measure 40, 28, 41.

When I was nine stone I was very skinny and when I got on the scales the nurse said she thought I was going to be much less. Confusingly, I can still wear most of my clothes from when I was thinner.

Being a size bigger on top than on bottom is due mainly to D-cup boobs and also I am (relatively) long in the body, short in the leg. (interestingly both the DC are like this too and wear tops one or two sizes above trousers.)

I'm 5 foot and that weight and a 10 in most shops - although in a few a 10 is too big.

Must be to do with body shape.

At my heaviest (11 stone) I was still wearing a 12 in some things and a 14 in some.

My Mum at the same weight as me (and pretty much the same height) is always a dress size bigger but she is a different shape.

I am 5 foot 4 and when I was 10 stone I was size 8-10 at the top and 12 at the bottom. In dresses I would probably have been a size 10 but for my body shape the sort of dresses that look best are fitted at the top and flare out so could play to the smallness of my waist and ignore my fat arse lol

My mum weighs about 8st 8 and wears a size 14. She is 5' 2" but has 34E boobs, and thickish waist- she is 83.

I am 5'3" and usually weigh around 9 stone and I am a size 10. If I put on a stone I reckon I'd be a 14 easily.

I'm 5'4", about 9 stone and a size 12 - but then I don't have any boobs, so the weight is all on my hips.
