Do you remember that skirt-over-trousers look of the late 90s?

What was that all about then?

Remember wearing this avidly as a student. Looking back, it seems so weird - skirt, and trousers.

What? Did anyone else commit this atrocity?

Rimmer, I was born in 1978 too (think that#s what you meant!) Had totally forgotten about ton sur ton!

I did hair mascara, spiral perm, glitter and flurescent stuff in the 80's. By 1999 I was wearing wool wide legs and loafers.

My dc are avid Scrapheap Challenge fans so we see lots of Cathy Rogers wearing her skirt trousers thing.

Dresses over trousers? Totally different and a style that will last forever if I and my calves have anything to do with it.

So weird seeing this thread title- I was only trying to describe these trousers to DP last night, and I hadn't thought of them in years.

I had some. They made me look like a market trader wearing a money-belt.

This is making me feel really nostalgic for my late teens. In the sixth form I remember living in a massive pair of really baggy patchwork trousers (all ripped at the bottom where they caught in my bike chain) with a strange sort of woven hooded top thing. I had Doc Martens with multicoloured beads strung along the laces and my school bag was an army surplus satchel with a strap so long the bag used to bang against my calves (I sit you not). Attached to the bag was a CND symbol and a badge which said "Love and passion still in fashion: alter attitudes to AIDS."

I thought I was cool. And I still have my CK1 perfume. I miss the late '90s. Especially Dawson's Creek.

I must have sleepwalked through the 90's as I don't remember half the stuff mentioned on here.But then I was never a student either,so that might have something to do with it.In the 1990's I was mostly wearing black lycra
