Has anyone successfully managed to find a dress that a young teenage girl will wear to a wedding?

Said teen prefers the leggings/thick black tights and shorts look and Arthur Scargill fringe.

Have got one but suspect it'll go back... The dress, I mean, not the teen.

Any suggestions most welcome.

Yes, to stealing make-up. And at room tidy up time, clothes just get stuffed into the laundry basket rather than folded or hung-up.

Will show her teh Boden one when feeling brave.

I can show her a dress in the non-teen part of a shiop that is identical to a teen-type dress and get sneered at that it's "something you'd wear to the office"

CarlaBruni - maybe you need to paste just the photos of the dresses into a Word document, and print it out for her, so she can't see where it's from [evil ]?

I like your style, Jackie, like your style.

GOML...does your DD's mirror have suspicious-looking finger-shaped smears of mascara/foundation around it too ?

KristinaM · 28/07/2010 16:41

surely most wedding guests expect teenaged girls to behave like sulking 2 years olds and look scruffy?

well i do anyway. and i dont even have one . i just think " that poor mum. that will be me soon"

not " what IS that woman thinking of letting her out like that!!!!"

Yes - the mirrors are covered in make up smears.

And all my CLEAN towels have a turin shroud of dd's face on, in rimmel foundation.

AnyFucker · 28/07/2010 17:10

don't get me goin' on the towels...

DD used to have blue black hair.

Nearly pushed me over the edge, that.

EVERYTHING in the house had a blue bruise on it from her hair/hairdye.

And towels get chucked in laundry basket after just brushing against teen's face
