So I have smoked for many years. Actually quit twice for several years but have been full on twenty a day for the past five or so years.

want to quit. Need to quit. Going to quit. Anyone else aiming for it soon?

You need to reframe to “Quitting Yay!”
As with the mindset of “ugh”, you’ve lost already.
I gave up smoking many years ago and smoked more than you, I had hypnotherapy and luckily it worked….
My big regret is I didn’t stop sooner and my one huge regret in life is that I smoked at all, as I now have breathing problems attributed to smoking.
You can stop smoking if you really want to, it hasn’t got one re-deeming feature, the worst thing I cringe about when I think back, is how much I must have smelt of smoke, I must have reeked as I smoked in the car and if I smell a smoker now it makes me recoil… it’s so bad.
Not sure how much a pack of 20 costs now but must be over a tenner, or £70 a week, or £280 a month, or £3,360 a year.
Crazy!!

pack of 20 is now over £20 at my local garage!

I am wondering about hypnotherapy - you would recommend it?

Yes , I would definitely recommend hypnotherapy. It worked for me, but you’ve got to be in the right mindset. It’s expensive but I found that helped in the first few weeks- it helped stiffen my resolve. It took a few months to break even, and after that I was in profit. For the first year I bought myself a present every month, like a new pair of shoes. At £20 a day, you’ll really notice the difference financially, plus you feel so much better about yourself, knowing you’ve got the strength to beat that addiction.
