Never heard of it, tell me more. I gave up smoking but am addicted to vaping now. So, is this the solution to giving up vaping?

It's Champix isn't it. It can cause new or worsening mental health problems.

Haven’t tried Vareniclin but just a heads-up there’s an app called www.puffstats.com helps people quit by tracking cravings and progress. Might be worth a look if you’ve tried everything else.

Ive been taking Varenicline for 7 weeks now. I havent had any side effects personally - although there are possible side effects which are explained to you prior to taking them. I havent had a cigarette for almost 5 weeks now and have had no cravings - Ive smoked for over 30 years. I will be given 12 weeks of medication. It is worth contacting the NHS to discuss this as an option.

Thank you, this sounds encouraging. I did actually contact my doctor and was told the surgery don’t currently supply it :( I could of course buy online but I want to talk to an actual doctor about it, mainly because I have very mild kidney disease (nothing major, egfr of 84) and I take antidepressants (for OCD not depression). Did you get through your doctors then? Xx

Im based in Wales. I contacted the NHS Wales quit smoking helpline. I spoke with them and they asked me questions and said I was eligible and they would send me a letter for me to take to my GP surgery. The letter was a request for a prescription (starts with 2 weeks supply) for Varenicline. The helpline said some GPs want to see you prior to prescribing them. Mine didnt request this.
