ADHD Meds make me smoke

I’ve been an on and off smoker since my late teens. I’ve gone years without, then started again for a bit, then stopped etc. I didn’t smoke while pregnant or when the kids were little, then during lockdown started up.
I was given ADHD meds a couple of years ago and they’re life changing! But they give me an urge to smoke incessantly. I’ve tried changing the meds but they all make me feel an urge to smoke. I’m limiting myself to no mire than 5 a day but I’d like to know if this is a common side effect for anyone here who is taking similar meds.

Yep. Apparently it’s dopamine seeking behaviour - ie meds give you dopamine then you seek out more ie from vapes in my experience. Can’t function without meds in terms of doing my job, but well aware dreadful for my health for consuming so much nicotine. Sorry no solution!

@sawadekah thanks! I really need the meds but the smoking really bothers me!
