Vaping and coughing

Help…. Decided it really is time to stop the fags. I’ve tried umpteen times the last 12 months and bought no end of different vapes.
but they make me cough so much - I end up having a fag as they don’t make me cough!
How do I stop the coughing and enjoy vaping so I don’t reach for the fags??

My mother has now had to start vaping after severe pneumonia obliged her to finally stop smoking (after over 60 years). She has found that drawing more gently on the vape than she would on a cigarette helps with the coughing issue. She also wears a nicotine patch, so she wants to vape less as the cravings are so much less.

She has no choice but to stop as she was going into lung failure over Christmas. She's 87. I don't anticipate that it will be easy, but so far she's doing better than she or we dared to hope.

I've never been a smoker so could possibly be talking out of my arse, but this is what my dyed in the wool 40+ a day smoker mother has said.

@Th1me Thanks. Our fingers are crossed as failure is not an option. She was so ill over Christmas that we could have lost her and she knows this.

Not all vapes are the same. I would advise you to visit your local vape shop and they can get you setup with the right liquid ( pg/vg , nicotine level mix) and device to suit your needs. It is normal to experience a little bit of a cough when you start vaping.
