7 years ago I quit smoking and my partner quit with me as I was diagnosed with COPD. I moved house and we agreed that no guests were allowed to smoke in the house. So family and friends had to go out to smoke.
6 months ago he started smoking again. I hate the smell of it. I have asked him to quit again, he says he is not ready. Now he is sneakily having a smoke in the bathroom and the kitchen. I feel like he has no consideration for my health. I am at my wit's end as to what to do. Should I ask him to leave. I have expressed my concern to him time and time again. My mother died from this disease and it really hurts me that he has no intention of quitting. I moved house and we agreed that no guests were allowed to smoke in the house. Wow. That is really inconsiderate of him given your COPD diagnosis.

I was a smoker when I first met DH but I gave up as he has a long term lung condition. I wouldn’t dream of starting smoking again, or letting anyone smoke in the house. I’m not sure I could stay with someone who cared so little for my health but only you can decide if you want him to leave or can put up with him smoking.

Of course he should stop but lay down the law on no smoking in the house. Smoking in the kitchen is just disgusting. I say this as I put out one of the 2 or 3 cigarettes a day I smoke out in the garden. I've struggled with nicotine addiction on and off over the years but quit smoking indoors in 1997 if not before.
