Stop smoking

Week 3 has been tough

I stopped smoking on the 28th March, so just over 3 weeks. This week has been the hardest so far. I want a fag.

I was on patches for the first week, but forgot to wear one on day 8, and got on fine with just lozenges, so i decided to stop the patches. I'm wearing one today because the craving is strong.

Week 3 is a tough week.

Stick at it, it's worth it. Especially for the lack of worry about your health. Well done.

It is worth it for the lack of worry. I used to worry about cancer evey day. My chest was sore. The sore chest disappeared almost immediately as did the worry about cancer. Thankyou for that reminder.

I've given up smoking a few times. The last time was the last time I will ever have to do it. I have always gone cold turkey so the first 3 days are hell. The first 3 weeks are hard. The first 3 months are dangerous. I think it takes about 3 weeks for the nicotine to get out of your system. Occasionally I would like a cigarette but once I think about how awful I felt the craving goes away. Good luck with it

Each time i have tried, drinking has been my weak spot. It hasn't been this time. I've had a few boozy nights and although i've thought about smoking, it has been fleeting. In the past, as soon as i thought about it, i knew i was going to buy fags.

Up until this week, the though of the smell of it repulsed me. And if i passed someone smoking in the street, it made me feel sick.

These last few days i can actually taste it. I know it's just my mind playing tricks on me and i can do this.

How's it going, Clopy? 3 weeks is fantastic! Star

Better. I drank red wine and sucked lozenges and thouht about smoking a lot and considered going to the shop and felt hugely relieved at 11pm when i knew the shop was closed an to buy fags would mean a huge trek that i had no intention of making.

Well done GrinFlowers

Thanks. Today is even better. I seem to have gotten over that particular hump. No real cravings and only 2 lozenges.
