Addicted to nicotine lozenges

I gave up smoking using the lozenges over 8 years ago now and found it surprisingly easy.
The trouble is that 8 years later I am still sucking away on the lozenges, I have always got one or two on the go.
Has this happened to anyone else? I don't think I would cope without them now.

Hi, I wonder if you'll see this post. If so, how did you manage with your nicotine lozenge addiction in the last 3+ years since you posted? Any success? I'm struggling with nicotine gum addiction, so in a very similar boat to you. First started using it 13 years ago and had various attempts at stopping smoking. Each time I went between chewing and smoking, the chewing periods getting increasingly longer, but I'd always go back to smoking after a while. Then three years ago I actually managed to quit smoking for good. Problem is, I'm still chewing 20+ pieces of 2mg gum per day and I'm worried now that it's affecting my health quite seriously. I want to stop, but I'm dreading going nicotine free finally. I just think I'll feel overwhelmed and lost without it.

I'd appreciate any tips, or just to hear how you've been getting on.
