Bad reactions to different juices?

Hi lovely vapers. I've been vaping 9 months but have had a few relapses back to stinkies over the past few months due to high anxiety (I have Generalised Anxiety Disorder, and posted about it, receiving very kind advice after my first relapse in June). I think I'm slowly getting back to vaping properly - I've had a bad few weeks with my anxiety and haven't cracked and smoked.

I'm starting to wonder if particular juices might be affecting me badly. When I first started vaping, I was on 11/12mg menthol, with PG sometimes as high as 80%. I could vape 18mg no bother, felt fine. Since my anxiety resurfaced, I went up to 18mg but came back down to 12mg as I could see 18mg was giving me jitters. At times over the past few weeks, I've felt a bit sick and dizzy on 12mg but at other times it's fine. I bought a new juice at 11mg yesterday (triple menthol, 80% PG, Dekang) and when I tried it this morning I got terrible palpitations, nausea and shaking which lasted hours.

It's often hard for me to know if physical symptoms like nausea and shaking are caused by something external or my anxiety, but I know for sure that this new juice really did not help. Does anyone have any experience with particular flavours, PG/VG or nic strengths affecting them badly? I did feel jittery after a Cola Gummy flavour and am not sure if particular flavourings might play a part.

Thanks in advance Smile

Sorry you're suffering but well done for sticking with the vaping Star

High nicotine can make you feel a bit jittery and sick but the effects wouldn't last for hours.

There are a lot of fruit flavours I can't vape because they make my mouth sore and swollen so it is possible to have a bad reaction to certain flavourings but I'd have thought menthol would be OK, it's just menthol and if you were sensitive to it you'd probably have known since childhood. Also I've never heard of a reaction to flavouring like you experienced, usually it's just a bit of a sore throat or mouth or a cough.

Is triple menthol a bit extremely flavoured? That could give you a big jolt and maybe set off your anxiety, especially if you are worried there might be something in there that could harm you.

High PG juice can be a bit rough some of us like it like that and especially IME Dekang juices. You might do better on high or pure VG, like the ones Polter mentions.

Thanks Polter and Plenty, I'm definitely going to have a look at more natural juices and avoid too high PG. I don't think menthol can be the issue as that's pretty much all I ever vape.

I think you've got a point re: the extreme flavour of the triple menthol, Plenty. I think with Dekang I'm probably a bit suspicious of what might be in it too. I've been back on my old juice from my local B&M and have felt better. Still a bit anxious, but nothing like yesterday. Honestly, I felt like I'd drunk 8 cups of coffee (which I stopped drinking years ago). I went to the doc for blood tests the other day to see if there's anything physical affecting the way I've been feeling, so we'll see.

Hi ya,

I was expericing terrible vapers tongue after a week or two on juices.
Terrible sore throat, sore mouth an headaches and palpitations.

After seeking some advice on juices (think was allergictoironing or poulter) I sourced some higher 70% vg liquid rather than the 50/50 mix and I've not had a bad reaction since I swapped.
If you look up vape club, their website has higher vg liquids and also gives you the percentages.
I've found that I pay a little more for the juices and have to order off a website (no local stockist) but it's been worth it.
Vape king has also been very good too- their standard mix is 50/50 but I emailed them and they made my vg higher at no extra cost:-) hope this helps

Thanks, Gohack, I will check out those websites Smile I've not touched that high pg juice again, but am still keen to find a juice that really suits me. I also just found out I'm anaemic, which may have been playing a part in the dizziness and palpitations.
