Walked to the shop for my usual 10 fags and ended up in a shop that sells vaping products and bought a starter kit! Smile

I don't smoke much anyway gave up completely while pregnant then somehow they've creeped back in. When I do smoke though I go outside then when ive finished I change tops and wash my hands. I'm just wondering now with my new e-cig should I still go outside when I want to have it? Is the smoke produced from the e cig still harmful to children?

Thanks Smile

Well done you! That's exactly how I stopped smoking, was down to my last cig and happened to walk past a place that sold ecigs. That was 20 months ago, haven't had a cig since.

I happily vape round my kids as there is little evidence of harm from second hand vaping.

Wow well done gin! Can't believe ive done this on a whim.

Oh that's great. So much easier than having to go outside in the wind and rain.

I couldn't believe how easy it was to stop once I'd actually made the decision to. I was creeping up to 30 a day, and had never managed to stop before. Even when I was pregnant I just cut down to 1 or 2 a day. Being free from cigarettes is a great feeling, good luck and enjoy your gaping journey!

Well done Gold! Flowers

Vaping tends to be much more of a little-and-often thing than smoking so it can be quite difficult to go outside each time. In the early days especially, you'll do better if you can vape whenever you feel the urge. The vapour is of no apparent concern to bystanders according to the most comprehensive studies to date.

You might still be concerned about your DC seeing you vaping and copying you in the future. Evidence to date shows that only a tiny number of never-smokers are taking up vaping and that it's not a gateway into smoking - see ASH for example. However if you're at all worried about this it's not too much faff to nip into another room for a quick vape.

Thankyou so much for the links Plenty. I am definitely vaping little and often. Got the tobacco flavour for now but I am craving. I'm guessing this is normal or will I have to up the nicotine dose? Im on the lowest one. Like I said I only smoke 2-3 a day but it's this time of night I usually have one before going to sleep. Sorry for the questions

I really hope I can keep it up! Feeling very motivated now though.

i suspect you will need to up the nicotine level to give you the satisfaction you'd get from a fag. And don't worry about it - you can then drop down if you want to.

Well done & keep vaping!
