Spinner not charging

cupofsneeze · 26/08/2014 15:44

I'm a bit fed up with my vision spinners, both are only about 3 months old and neither seem to charge properly. I have to keep unscrewing, then screwing back on and hope the light goes red and starts flashing! Its turned into a bit of a 15 min drama every time trying to get each end to connect Confused

Its not the chargers, my other cheap ecigs charge on the same unit so what am i doing wrong with the spinners or are spinners a bit pants.

My totally wicked Ego C twists lasted a year each.

Has anyone had the same problem and is there a tip to get them up and running again?

My OH is having exactly this problem. How weird.

I've had problems before when gunk has built up on the bit of battery that the charger connects to. It may not look bad but if you stick a cotton bud in & move it around, it may come out with greenish/greyish dirt on it which has been preventing a good connection.

cupofsneeze · 26/08/2014 15:56

I've tried the cotton bud trick but that hasnt helped even though i did get a lot of black gunk off.

I wouldnt mind if i hadnt spent so much money on them and I havent got a clue what alternatives have a better life span other than the incredibly expensive TW ones Confused

I'm glad i'm not the only one with this problem Linerunner

An Ego C-twist, branded as such, is the same wherever you buy it from. That said, I have 1 spinner & 2 C-twists of about the same age as each other & it's one of the Egos that's sulking (twisty bit at the bottom just keeps turning round & round & round Sad). The spinner is working absolutely fine despite me managing to drop it hard onto the pavement & causing a minor bend in it, and the other C-twist is fine too.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 26/08/2014 20:10

Have you tried the trick?

cupofsneeze · 26/08/2014 20:12

I'm off to give it a try now Smile

Eureka!!

My rainbow spinner is now charging like a dream without any faffing around and my pink one which i'm using tonight is heating up properly for the first time in weeks.

I hadnt realised how little ooomph it had recently.

Happy days Smile

I will tell OH! He has stopped the fags completely and is vaping. As he was on 50 roll ups a day, it is really important he stays off them and that vaping succeeds.

Thank you for the info.

How often to replace spinners- I've done the pin trick, cleaned them but they're not holding charge. I have three I rotate so going to have to replace them all "gulp" anyone know any good deal on at the moment?

Polt whats the difference with a MVP?

OP posts:
Letthemtalk · 27/08/2014 18:09

An MVP is a bigger battery, 2400 mha I think, mines lasts a couple of days between charges. It's vw as well as vv, and doubles up as an emergency phone charger. I love mine.

That aspire is a splendid looking thing polter. Is that the one with the spring loaded battery pin?

Shona, yes when they stop holding charge they're on their way out.

I won a black and grey one in a comp last month, it is beautiful.

Shonajay · 31/08/2014 16:13

I had a bad MVP experience though it was very good while it lasted. It gave a bang, and then died. Amazon said NOT to send it back, just dispose of it!
