Hi,

I am now on my second day of not smoking. Am doing it with lozenges. Gave up successfully in January and then foolishly had a "cheeky" fag at my boyfriends slightly drink sodden birthday do and it has been a slippery slope since then.

Yesterday went remarkably well, although did have a slight wobble in the evening when considered dashing to the shop for a packet but I stayed strong!

From experience, I know days 3 to 5 are the worst so am bracing myself for tomorrow. So far, so good though.

Wish me luck!

Good luck Pavilion!

Remember to have something to hand to fiddle with when you want a cig, to replace the hand to mouth & holding a fag aspects Smile

Well done!

Good Luck & stay strong.

God this is starting to get hard. Starting to feel really grumpy and irritable and I reckon it is only going to get worse. But also not really wanting to light up either. I'm just going to be a monster for about a week and then hopefully it will settle down a bit.

Also feeling really light/foggy headed.

Remember pavilion it isn't just the nicotine your body is going into withdrawal from - many of the other nasty substances in tobacco smoke reinforce that nicotine addiction (which is one of the reasons why some vapers "dual fuel" for a while).

And of course the habit can be as hard to quit as the nicotine itself. I knew someone years ago who was trying to give up with Zyban - she swore by having an empty biro case that she would drag on like a cig so she felt less deprived?

Keep going pavilion, you're doing brilliantly!

Jayne35 · 19/07/2014 15:19

Good luck Smile

How's it going?

pavilionredsquare · 20/07/2014 18:34

Hi everyone - thanks for all your lovely messages of support!

Am pleased to announce that I am still smoke free. Have had moments of feeling quite grumpy every now and then but on the whole it has been fine. Even went out last night and had beer without having one which is usually a major trigger for me to light up.

Wow that's brilliant, well done! Flowers

I'm especially impressed that you survived a night out with beer so early on. If you can do that you're invincible!

Well done. To date I've done three days. I've just decided that I've had enough . Enough of always smelling, enough of shelling out £5 nearly every day.. I could continue. Keep going strong

Congratulations pavilion and oneflueover!
