PG/VG diluents

Can someone talk to me about these please? I don't know if I should buy one or the other, or both? I intend to mix my own liquids in future as it's cheaper. I have no idea what the diluents are in my current pre mixed liquids.

Try HERE Boomerwang. They sell all the makings and equipment you're likely to need, and have a really good guide to DIY mixing Smile.

Do you have a smartphone? DP uses an app to help him work out what percentage to mix at.

He has so much fun trying all the different flavours.

All about e cigs forum has a great mix calculator. VG is really cheap from boots. What liquids are you using just now?

Well I'm using premixed liquids made by a brand called 'Liqua' which I got online in Sweden, and I bought some by 'Totally Wicked' in the UK but there's nothing on the labels to tell me what ratio of VG/PG they have. I wanted to know if one was better than the other to use, or if you must use both to mix with. I'll take a look at that link now, thank you.

Brilliant link to the mixing guide, Allergic thank you very much! Now I know the difference between PG and VG and how much I want to use of either.

Typical mix for pre-made liquids, unless they say otherwise, is usually around 70%PG and 30%VG, or maybe 80/20.

Letthemtalk · 25/06/2014 07:15

Liqua are 70/30 according to vapeescape, totally wicked are 80/20

I've noticed I'm starting to get an effect at the back of my throat which feels a bit like a hair stuck down there. I can feel a tingling, pulsing feeling right at the back where my sinuses are. Is this normal or have I done something wrong?

Are you drinking a bit more than before you started vaping? Most of us found we needed to drink a fair bit more, at least at first.

Boomerwang · 25/06/2014 19:41

No I'm not. I never felt thirsty or dry when I started, either.

It could be the higher PG if your nic base is 80/20, it has more of a 'throat hit' - do drink plenty, it can dry the mouth out. Higher nicotine can also increase throat hit. You don't need to inhale deeply like you do with a fag, I barely inhale at all, I kind of play with the vapour through my mouth and nose. You could try higher VG, or even 100% VG liquid.

If you are worried about nicotine poisoning then don't be - you would know! 'Voluminous vomiting' is a fairly early symptom Envy
