Day 20

So today is day 20 without a cigarette and I'm hardly even using the ecig now, I just like to have it with me 'just in case'. I haven't noticed any cravings either and considering I last had about 4 puffs of the ecig early Tuesday evening I'm surprised. Will probably have a drink tonight as it's Friday so may use it then.

Not sleeping much though, waking every hour or so and it's driving me mad. Have been on a quit smoking forum and apparently it's one of the normal side effects of packing up.

Apart from that I'm upbeat and positive still so all good Smile

Yay well done! Grin

Hang in there with the bad sleep, it will get better over time.

Jayne35 · 20/06/2014 15:21

Thanks Allergictoironing (great username Grin). Coping with the lack of sleep but it's good to hear others say it will get better.

Day 23 - past the 3 week mark! So very pleased. Still not sleeping very well and the Nightol don't seem to be working BUT that is the only downside, I have loads more energy.

Well done to all the other mumsnetters giving up too Smile

Well done Jayne Wine

My sleep has been all over the place since I stopped smoking (I am using an ecig, not cold turkey). Like you I have no regrets whatsoever but the sleep disturbance is a pig!

AugustaProdworthy · 23/06/2014 13:11

Well done!
Do you mind me asking how many you normally smoked in a day?

Jayne35 · 23/06/2014 19:30

Thanks Raia, I use an ecig too though not much now (5-6 puffs in a week maybe), I think I'm not that keen as I rolled my own and it's more like a cigarette.

Thanks Augusta. I started smoking around 12 years old and smoked 20 cigarettes per day (more at weekends) for about 20 years. For the last 7 years I rolled my own and smoked 10-12 per day, though loads more if I was drinking.

I'm pleased I have been able to stop. Sometimes I want one but it's more a want than a need and reading some of the mn smoking related threads makes me glad as some people are so vicious about smokers.

God aren't they just! I know nobody likes being around smokers but I've never come across quite the level of nastiness in RL that you get on MN.

You're doing really well -
23 days @ 10-12 a day = about 250 fags you haven't smoked! Flowers

Thanks Plenty. I am finding posting helps so I will probably be posting regularly boring people Grin
