Ok, I'm sorry if this makes me sound really stupid, but how often do I replace the coil thing and how/when do I clean the tank?
For example, I'm using cherry juice just now, but also have chocolate mint I really want to try.
I know I have 2 actual units, but my OH is going to be using the second one for now.
Do I just wash out with water? What about the coil? New coil for new flavour?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi ineed. To clean the tank & atomiser, your best bet is to look up a couple of vids on Youtube - there are many vids for just about every different tank you can get Smile. "Quick & dirty" short term would be to empty any remaining fluid out, fill with warm water, shake for a bit, empty & repeat a few times. Then either leave the clearo somewhere warm to dry out, try to dry the wicks with a hair dryer, or "dry burn" a few times (short bursts with the battery) - but beware as I have a tendency to over-do dry burning & that makes it taste horrid. If using the same tank but swapping the coil, of course you take the coil off before the washing & just have to dry out the tank (hairdryer is my recommendation for this).

Coils can last a very variable amount of time; you have to consider how much you vape, what the coil resistance and battery voltages are set at etc. I've had some lasting a few weeks & others from the same batch months with the same set up.

In a ideal world you would have a separate tank for every flavour you vape regularly, or at least a dedicated atomiser. However this really isn't practical especially when you're quite new to vaping & trying out loads of different flavours. You just have to make sure you do clean the tank & coil reasonably well especially if you have strong or distinctive flavours.

Have you thought of putting one flavour in each of your 2 tanks, and swapping with your OH so you can both try both flavours?

Did you get the kit with loads of spare coils? If so, you could keep separate coils for different flavours and just rinse the tank out - just wrap the coils in cling film or sandwich bags and keep them somewhere safe - this would save you having to clean and dry burn them repeatedly.

If you are at the trying loads of flavours stage, you could get a pile of cheapo GS-H2s - they're rather good for the price.

Some flavours really cling to the coil and tank - cherry is one of them! If you can't get rid of the taste, try soaking the parts in a splosh of cheap vodka overnight.

Thanks everyone :)
I think I'll buy some of those cheap tanks, I've just ordered 5 flavours from the Alchemists cupboard so separate tanks is probably the best way to go. I got 5 spare coils, so I can just try and use the fruity flavours first, then use a new coil.
Thanks for all the advice, although why this isn't just printed in the instructions is beyond me!

Try THIS seller on e-bay - I got a load from him & they seem to be real ones (not clones) and arrived quickly. Cheapest decent GS-H2s I've found to date, plus he's got a really good range including just abouit every colour you can think of for EVOD tanks Smile

Adding to that, this seems to be the best deal for cheap clearos and the one I got last time from the same guy.

Just been browsing his stuff & there does seem to be some really good deals there, like this as a starter kit!

Raia · 31/05/2014 20:27

Ooh which flavours did you get?

Both of my favourite juices are from the Alchemist's Cupboard (egg custard tart and pina colada) but I'm feeling the need to try some different ones again ...

ineedausername · 31/05/2014 21:14

I got apple pie, mentally menthol, coconut caramel with hazelnut custard, totally tropical and bootiful berry. It was a set of 5 for £20 :)
Although there are quite a few on trip hammer which sound yummy!
Thought my OH would hate the cherry but he likes it!

Or the really quick and dirty is to just empty the clearo, fill with other juice and vape through the flavour. How bad could cherry and mint chocolate be?

Softlysoftlycatchymonkey · 31/05/2014 21:27

Clean it out?

I've never done that.. Just bout a new filter every three weeks Sad

Should I have been?

Softlysoftlycatchymonkey · 31/05/2014 21:27

Bought !

Too much southern comfort!

Allergictoironing · 31/05/2014 21:44

Softlysoftly all depends whether you want to save (even more) money. I have clearos that have lasted for months as long as they get a decent clean every now & again. It's only when the coil actually goes that you need to replace, and with many of the clearos about now you can just change that which works out even cheaper Grin.

Allergictoironing · 31/05/2014 21:45

How bad could cherry and mint chocolate be? Yeurgh! Cherry and chocolate maybe, but cherry with MINT???
