Oh God I'm really pissed off! Everything that could've annoyed me has...please tell me why this is a good idea? I hate feeling like this.

I invited my friends little boy over for dinner and se said he didn't want to. I've been crying over it for half hour now. I've decided that she doesn't like me and my son has no friends....WTF??!!

I have a patch on and it's doing nothing today :(

Help......meeeeeeee

Arghhh, sounds like a stressful afternoon you're having there Meh

Sorry I don't have any useful and specific advice to help you, apart from obvious stuff like refocus on why you're stopping smoking, deep breaths, distraction strategies, taking one moment at a time etc, which I'm sure you've done already.

Think how well you've done to get to day 5: that's brilliant! This shitty patch WILL pass and you will soon be feeling great :)

Meh84 · 21/05/2014 17:51

Thanks Raia - I've calmed down a lot now. Just read it back and it sounds pathetic ha!

Hang on in there - you've done brilliantly to get to day 5, and just using patches as well (I failed miserably when I tried patches, as did my brother).

Part of the stressing could be from the hand to mouth habit, or more to the point NOT doing that part, which can be as hard to break as the nicotine addiction. You may find it helps to be doing something with your hands like knitting, or even get a set of worry beads.

Iamfrankieheck · 21/05/2014 19:21

Keep going Meh84 you can do this Smile

I am day 22 and I need to pass on a wee tip... I have been saying to myself since day 1- that two years and 1 day etc, so today is two years, 22 days and somehow it's helping b'cos it seems crazy to start again if I've been stopped for over two years..right?? Hmm

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 21/05/2014 21:00

The trouble with patches is you can't ever get a quick top-up from them when you need it. What about getting some inhalators, or even gum or lozenges, just for those times when you're struggling?

Sending you lots of strength, you're doing brilliantly Flowers

Keep going you can do it. Just found this thread, I'm only on day two and already feel like I need to kill someone! I will persevere :o)
