I would really appreciate your help with deciding what to buy to help me continue vaping and stay iff the fags. I have done over 4 weeks and don't want to go back to the stinkys.

I started with a tornado t, and later bought a spinner battery as back up. The spinner however has become my main battery as the original just does not give the same hit at all. I need another spinner battery at least to allow one for charging, one for using. However I am also have issues with the fluid leaking at times. I can't figure out why it leaks sometimes and not others. It also tastes burnt sometimes but not others. Perhaps the things that hold the liquid need replacing? Sorry I am not very au fait with all the terminology.

I can sense that it won't be long before I will want to buy a new piece of kit and am thinking, that I would be better researching now and making an informed decsion, rather than buy another battery now, and then a newer set up in a relatively short period of time. But try as I may, I am very confused about what to buy.

I would like something that would give a bit more throat hit. Currently vaping 24mg. Used to smoke amber leaf rollies or benson fags when feeling rich. (If that info is relevant) Budget:up to £50, but the cheaper the better obvs. Please ignore any errors, typing on phone.

Hi Procrastinator, well done on 4 weeks Flowers

Basically you have two parts to your kit - the battery and the tank (sometimes called atomiser or clearomiser)

For the battery, I would recommend an MVP2. It will do variable voltage, like your spinner and also has a very long battery life. If that looks a bit big (you soon get used to it!) or you don't want to spend that much, how about the Vision Spinner 2, it's 1600 mah so will last a good while between charges.

The leaking fluid will be a problem with the tank. Do you know what the tank is called? If not, could you post a clear photo of it? The MVP in the above link comes with an iClear 30 tank. This is a top coil (long dangly wicks) and has two coils in it so gives a lot of vapour. It's also quite big - holds 3ml of liquid. It's a good idea to have at least one spare tank (or at least a spare coil to go in it) as they only really last a few weeks at best. If we can work out what you're using at the moment it will be easier to advise.

The doofer that holds the liquid. It is just plastic, no coil or wick.

With the mvp2, is that just the battery? Will I need to buy the part that holds the liquid as a separate thing? (Did I mention I am struggling to get my head round it all? I wish there was a local vaping shop!)

Please help me decide what to buy.

Is that photo clear enough?

Have just reread your post and see that you said it comes with a tank and that you advise a spare too.

Ah ok, I don't know much about those sort, but I have found a maintenance guide here, hopefully that will have some hints to get it working well again, at least in the short term.

The mvp2 does come with a tank, the iclear 30, as described above. It's worth getting a couple of different sorts though to see what works best for you. Lots of people get on very well with the iclear 16 which is also a dual top coil tank (like the iclear 30) but is smaller and doesn't have a metal drip tip which some people don't get on with. My favourite cheap clearomiser is the GS-H2 which I get from ebay. I'll see if I can find a current link - they get taken down quite regularly! Everything is interchangeable so you can use pretty much any battery with any tank.

GS-H2

Thank you so much Plenty.
Can't believe I didn't think to look for a maintenance guide! I even bought it from them, how embarassing. Will have a go doing that to get me through till my new stuff arrives.

Just off on the school run, after school clubs, dentist, dinner etc mayhem. But I will study the options you have suggested tonight and place an order. I am feeling a bit weak today re buying some baccy, due to the leaking and only one decent battery charging. The time you have taken to answer will give me hope that I don't need to. Cake

Can't fault my mpv2 totally agree with pubegardens. Holds its charge for 2-3 days and is a really solid bit of kit.

Allergictoironing · 28/04/2014 19:31

Thinking about the burnt taste you get sometimes, are you checking the voltage dial isn't getting turned up? Mine (have both a vision spinner and an Evo C-twist) dial themselves up just in a pocket or if I'm fiddling & don't think.

SkintNikki · 28/04/2014 23:07

Hi Allergictoironing, I have the dial up to 4.8 and still sometimes feel that it is too weak! Blush But the burning is intermittent rather than each drag. I am now wondering if the liquids I have been using are rubbish too. I bought them off a market stall.

I have now placed an order for the MVP2, with 3 spare iclear16 clearos, and 4 different liquids. Hopefully these will work well and keep me off the fags. Hope they arrive quickly.

Thank you all for your advice.

SkintNikki · 28/04/2014 23:09

Sorry.. I am procrastinator.
Logged in on laptop and forgot to change to new name.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 28/04/2014 23:22

Sounds like the atomiser is on its way out. The coil eventually gets clagged up with liquid and it takes more heat to get anything off it.
