Hooray to getting our own space (within giving up smoking).

Flowers & Wine (gin) to MNHQ for giving us this space.

I'm hoping some of our most knowledgeable vapers are going to start threads about specific aspects of vaping.

Hi again MistressDeeCee.

I think you may be slightly confused on the terminology. CE4 is a style of clearo, the bit you put the liquid in and contains the atomiser. The battery will be a separate part that literally is just a battery in a case with the relevant screw fitting for the clearo.

So really need to determine what part is breaking and why. Is it the casing on the battery, or the clearo plastic that's cracking?

MyEPack is a decent supplier & really good value, so I'm linking to their pages on batteries here and clearos here, which should help us track down where the problem really is Smile

magimedi · 08/05/2014 16:34

I would also recommend ecigwizard.com

Decent kit, the real thing. You may pay a bit more than some Amazon suppliers, but............

Or - have you got a local vape shop? If so, pop in there & have a chat with them. My shop guarantees all batteries for at least 6 weeks.

Polter Your sleep pattern will settle after a week or so - but (& I know others have said this) I get the most vivd dreams since stopping smoking. Lots of dreams with people I know or have known & they are very 'busy' dreams.

The lung function will go on improving for about 6 months!!

Ooh how exciting!

Well done Polter, that's brilliant! Flowers

I have been disappointed with batteries from myepack. We got these Kanger Evod batteries as part of a kit back before christmas. They're lasting OK but the power tails off a bit before they need recharging.

If you can afford to wait a while, I've been quite impressed with these from Fasttech.

magimedi · 08/05/2014 17:26

Plenty Are those batteries made by different people?

I quite fancy the fast tech one - how long is delivery?

OP posts:
PlentyOfPubeGardens · 08/05/2014 17:31

They've got a proper kanger logo on the underneath, I think they're genuine, ours came with the protank kits.

Sorry I can't remember how long the FT ones took to arrive - some weeks! I tend to order while drunk and then forget about it until a parcel arrives.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 08/05/2014 18:08

Oi! Rainbow fans! Look at this!!!

Allergictoironing · 08/05/2014 18:15

Oh. My. Gods. That's TOO blingy even for me I think!

OohQuack · 08/05/2014 20:01

Well today ive allowed myself to try my evod glass its beautiful, ive got a protank3 to try aswell but I limit myself to two clearos on the go at one time so I dont have loads of bits and pieces floating round. But it seems my upgrades are certainly headed in the right direction.

Not sure on the black jack juice ive put in it butits not offensive

Im in love sort of I even like the weightyness and the metal mouth bit.

Cantabile · 08/05/2014 21:32

Oh I love that rainbow drip tip! I have just had a shopping accident Blush

MistressDeeCee · 08/05/2014 21:49

Allergictoironing sorry, I meant the battery! Thanks for info Smile

Allergictoironing · 08/05/2014 22:35

That's worrying then Mistress, as the battery casing really shouldn't break! I use mine pretty constantly, have dropped them on concrete flooring, have them jumbling around in my pocket, fiddle with them constantly, even woke up one morning to find I'd dropped one in bed with me & had been sleeping on it!

I think you just need to make sure that the batteries you buy are genuine ones (not marked "style" or "type" etc.) and only buy from reputable places - the initial purchase will likely be more expensive but a) they should last a long time and b) safety must be of paramount importance. My personal favorites at present are the Vision spinner and Ego C-twist (near enough identical) - standard cylindrical batteries with variable voltage, and the added advantage that they come in pretty colours including the lovely rainbow and a gorgeous sort of velvety texture blood red among others. As Magi says above ecigwizard seem to be good & good value, as are Myepack, and I'm sure others will have their own recommendations on highly reputable vendors Smile.

MistressDeeCee · 09/05/2014 00:32

Allergic its the silver bit at the top of battery that breaks, if that makes sense. I admit a couple of times I haven't been that careful, fell asleep must have rolled forward & battery was crushed!! Still tho, the other day I was screwing a battery into USB charger and the top came off in my hand. So annoying. Im off to look up Vision spinner Ego C-twist ecigwizard in a minute then, thanks. Is there a standard 'marking' on batteries so you know they are genuine, by the way?

Allergictoironing · 09/05/2014 07:57

Well my spinner & Ego C-twist both have the brand printed on the side of the battery, very discretely near the base. But in general the better vendors will make it clear that the product they are selling is genuine branded e.g. Myepack specifically states the brand & model they are selling and even shows that in the pictures. Have PM'd you......

Cantabile · 09/05/2014 08:18

MistressDeeCee, I got my very first kit from Totally Wicked back in October. It's still going strong. (Totally Wicked blotted their copybook in the vaping world in some way, some years ago, I have no idea what they did.) Their kit is good and is genuine, not the cheapest though.

magimedi · 09/05/2014 17:42

I went shopping this morning & bought a denim skirt & a pair of cut offs for the summer (ever hopeful, me).

I have dropped a size!!!!!!!

I really do put it down to giving up smoking & taking up vaping. I am doing about 10 x as much exercise as I used to as I now have such improved lung function.

I spent this afternoon going through summer clothes & the local hospice shop has two bags of stuff that is far too big for me.

I am so happy, am off to have some Wine & a vape!

Brilliant magi! Flowers

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 09/05/2014 18:05

Cantabile, Totally Wicked gave a massive bung donation to UKIP just before the TPD vote in February. Some people went off them a bit because of that (other people thought they were marvellous!). It didn't do any good in any case, hardly any UKIP members turned up to vote at all.

Did they do something else questionable years ago?

As far as I can make out, Plenty, yes. When I first started vaping, I was looking at lots of vaping forums and saw a few historic posts on them -people saying things along the lines of "I would never buy from TW after what they did". I gathered that whatever it was was probably around 3 years ago, and got the impression it might have been something to do with trying to crush competition.

They may be the biggest, longest established in the UK (I'm guessing now, but I know they have been around for at least 5 years) and have more financial clout than many, so they're probably very useful if industry-led legal challenges to anti-vaping legislation are required.

Cantabile · 09/05/2014 18:52

Magi, that is brilliant! Well done, have a Bike to help you on your way!

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 09/05/2014 19:21

Oh look, I bet it's this or maybe this Shock

Sounds like this Jason Cropper guy is a bit of a loose cannon, but is no longer with the company.

It's not really funny because he was quite badly attacked but there's the most wonderful DM sadface of him here.
