Hooray to getting our own space (within giving up smoking).

Flowers & Wine (gin) to MNHQ for giving us this space.

I'm hoping some of our most knowledgeable vapers are going to start threads about specific aspects of vaping.

Hello

Thanks for all the advice - my kit arrived on Wednesday and I have been vaping away happily since.

So far, am impressed with the battery life - getting a good eight hours out of it, and sticking it on charge when I'm in the bath, and haven't ran out yet. Will pick up a spare battery though.

I have ten different flavours to try may have gone ott but have started on golden tobacco, which is fine. I'm on 12 mg, and haven't noticed any lack of nicotine, so think that's about right for now.

Since Wednesday, I have smoked a grand total of four cigarettes. I bought a ten pack last night as I was out for my nephews birthday but only smoking four when I normally would've smoked twenty was A Big Deal. Plus. I enjoyed the cigs I did smoke much less - I think I was trying to draw on them as I would my e-cig - which is quite unpleasant!

Am not even halfway through my first 10 ml pot of juice, so I reckon I'll get a week and a half to two weeks from 10 ml.

To early to tell how long the atomisers will last.

Well done, ClashCity that's brilliant progress! Flowers

Can I join in? I got my vaping kit today but have 20 cigs to finish first, I am on eGo vaping kit and tobacco flavour to start with.

GirlAnachronism · 28/01/2015 23:11

Hi everyone, been vaping on and off since october, but determined to stick to it now. Quick question can i use any brand or type of liquid or do i need to stick to the type that i can buy where i bought my vaper from (socialites)

ToastBones · 29/01/2015 00:43

You can use any liquid you like Smile

ToastBones · 29/01/2015 00:46

Hello and welcome to you and to Wimpy too.

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 29/01/2015 03:15

Thank you, Smile I'm still coughing and spluttering when using the vape, I will practice more later today.

Allergictoironing · 29/01/2015 07:27

Diary try using longer and much slower, lighter draws on the e-cig, that's a problem many smokers have when they try e-cigs & it's just a case of changing your style.

Also think about your vaping patterns; nicotine is absorbed very differently with e-cigs than with fags. With real cigarettes you smoke each one for about 5-10 minutes, then another in say an hour or so. With vaping you should try just a few draws each time, but every 10 or 15 minutes or so. Initially you'll feel like you're vaping far more then you were smoking but you really aren't taking in loads more nicotine.

GirlAnachronism · 29/01/2015 10:49

any recommendations on where you can get the nicest juices from? Right now I'm vaping 24mg of Toffee Mint Temptation, which seems to be the right strength for me

Ledare · 29/01/2015 10:51

JooseJuice have some nice flavours and good discounts. I like The Alchemists Cupboard and Vape Escape too. Cocomel liquid is gorgeous!

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 29/01/2015 12:00

allergic thank you, I just successfully vaped without coughing Grin

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 29/01/2015 12:18

I got mine from a newly opened shop local to where I live, the man who owns it had a £500 bet on that he could stop and has been stopped for 29 months now, he has lungs of steel, he had the £100 vaper and was showing me how much vape comes out, he almost filled the shop.

He recommended tobacco for me to start with but has over 50 flavours,I'm looking forward to trying some. Thanks for letting me join the thread. Smile

Allergictoironing · 29/01/2015 13:08

Always good having a local shop Grin. You can get free advice and try out different flavours, well worth the slight extra it costs compared to buying off the internet.

Most people start with a flavour they are familiar with, either tobacco or menthol, but most end up moving on to different types after a while. It won't always be the types you thought you'd go for that you end up with either, so try a bit of everything for a while.

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 29/01/2015 15:40

I had to go down for help with charging it already, I bought an extra battery for it and was a bit confused as to how to put the liquid in, he showed me how to clean it up with kitchen roll too, hopefully I wont have to go back until I need more liquid.

magimedi · 29/01/2015 15:47

Diary local shops are brilliant. I had to go back to mine when I started vaping as I poured the liquid all over the table, not into the right place. And I had to go back again as I didn't realise my new battery needed five clicks to turn it on.

They have always been lovely & never made me feel a fool.

I am entranced with my new Ileaf & mini nautilus - wish I'd got it ages ago. I reckon I'm vaping slightly less, judging by liquid consumption, as eacg puff is so satisfying.

And the mini nautilus is so much easier to fill than the aspire of evod standard clearos - good for anyone who had issues with that.

I did the same with the liquid, it was everywhere but I had finally put it in correctly but put too much in. Grin All fixed now and the coughing and spluttering has stopped too.

pinkrocker · 29/01/2015 20:06

Can someone recommend a nice e-cig that doesn't "puke up" in my mouth!
It always seems to happen when I'm driving and I have to scrat about for a tissue to spit in!

magimedi · 29/01/2015 22:52

pink - please don't vape & drive - I know people who have & have had to stop quickly & have chipped teeth as a result. And gawd knows what would happen if the air bag went off.

I think you may be getting some juice into the wrong bit of the clearo - I'd recommend a mini nautilus - easy to fill & no leakage problems.

www.ukecigstore.com/aspire-nautilus-mini-glassomizer.html

And I got mine for less than that from my local store - £15 as far as I remember. It will fit most batteries.

Thanks for the link magi! I shall have a look at that :)

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 30/01/2015 11:21

I am loving this vaping, I can do vape rings and everything and don't miss smoking too much I am vaping quite a lot though but coming from 30 cigs per day I'm hoping that's normal?

The man in the shop said it would take 6-8 hours to charge but I'm finding the battery charges within 1-2 hours. No more coughing and spluttering and I should save a fortune.

I think I will stick to the tobacco flavour but any recommendations for another kind would be helpful.

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 30/01/2015 11:32

I forgot to ask, how do you know when the coil head needs changing? Sorry for all the questions.

magimedi · 30/01/2015 12:20

The coil head needs changing when you start to get a burt, dogs bollocks type of taste from your vape!!! Hard to describe, but you'll know it when you get it!

When I used the aspire BDC clearo I changed about once a week - I vape 20 mls of 12mg tobacco flavour a week.

With the natilus mini (Love it!) it's lasting more like a fortnight.

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 30/01/2015 12:30

Thank you, the man in shop said every 2 1/2 weeks so I'll go every 2 weeks I think, Im loving this, its like a new toy, I had cigarettes to finish when I bought this so smoked my last one during the night,it was horrid and I was smoking it like vaping. That's me cig free now. Grin

magimedi · 30/01/2015 12:32

Well done, Wimpy.

When I first started vaping I thought I was never going to get the whole thing sussed - but I did & you sound like you are as well. Local shops are great & worth supporting.
