I have a friend who desperately needs to talk to someone who is going to be a new step-parent, i.e, moving in with someone who has children, or someone is due to move in with you and yours.

I wouldn't normally get involved in this kind of thing, but he's a good friend and I knew that if anyone could help, Mumsnet could.

It's for the telly. Email me if you can help and I'll put you in touch. Cheers. ([email protected])

Hi Rhuby

Tutb moved in with me and mine, and I'm sure he would chat to another prospective stepdad but not sure about the tv bit!

What does it involve?

lilibet · 13/05/2005 10:24

Ah - just re read and i have misunderstood!

Rhubarb · 13/05/2005 10:28

Oops, sorry Lilibet, my fault, the friend in question is a tv director/producer guy who shot us for our forthcoming tv debut (no I don't know when it will be on yet). He is a really nice guy, honest and trustworthy. He's on a new project now that involves people who are soon to be step-parents. He can tell you more about it than I can. What you do is you have a chat to him, he tells you all about it and then you decide whether or not you want to be involved. He will then come and meet you, but still no pressure. I mentioned MN to him and he asked if I could see if anyone here is in that situation and wouldn't mind chatting with him.

He's been with us nearly two years now so probably wouldn't be suitable - sure that there will be someone else on here who would tho - will try and keep it bumped!

Here

Rhubarb · 13/05/2005 14:46

Nope, can't get it. Could you please draw their attention to this thread? My pc is at work and heavily monitored, every time I try to open the thread it won't let me, telling me that it has detected words of 'hate' in there. As the pc is in French I don't know which words it's picked up on! Maybe some innocent English words are really hate words in French???????

OP posts:
squirrel3 · 13/05/2005 14:52

The words of hate maybe BM (birth mothers) the EX (ex wife) etc lol

No, seriously I don't have a clue what words of hate they might be, I'll send an email to the mumsnet team they might be able to help.

Rhubarb · 13/05/2005 15:52

No it's ok, it's not the MN team, it's the censorship on my pc. I work in a school so we have these protection devices fitted on all the pcs and they resist my access to the most ridiculous things! Very annoying!

Itll be all the various references to drink then I should think

SadSam · 16/05/2005 08:43

Or it could be the very regular references to "big knickers" Tarantula!

lilibet · 16/05/2005 12:35

bump

Rhubarb · 17/05/2005 09:53

There's a thread discussing this very topic about profanities and guess what? I can't access it because the pc censor has detected words of pornography!
