Every year, dss is with his mum until 3pm, then us for the evening and boxing day. My DH has NEVER had him for Christmas. He is 14! We asked him last night what he wanted to do for christmas. He wants to come here because MY ROASTS ARE BETTER!! Ha! No body has ever liked my cooking!!!

lol - my 7 yr old stepson is with his mum each xmas ( he has 2 sisters) and then with us for new year. I love the bit about your roasts being better - alex (my ss) asked his nana (mum's mum) to call me one day to ask how I cook my veg coz they are 'qoute' awesome!! (they are frozen veg LOL!)

We have never been allowed to have DSC for Christmas Day, we have them from Boxing Day until December 30th / 31st. We also are not allowed to have the two youngest DSC for their birthdays either. If their birthdays happen to fall on the weekend we are due to have them (we have them only once a month because we live nearly 200 miles away) then their mother changes the weekend so we cannot have them then. Its very upsetting for DH as we would love to have them for the special days in their lives.
