If your dh has been married before, does it make any difference to how special you feel your marriage is now.

Also, did you feel that yuor marriage was any less so becuase he had been married before. As in ok we love each other but he has done this before.

Yes..I made sure our wedding was very different too. We had a low key wedding with just our closest friends and family, he had a big Greek wedding previously....

I can say one thing for certain though, my DH enjoyed the run up, actual ceremony and honeymoon far more the second time around...

So much so, DS was born 9 months later

I can tell you that I've been married before and it makes no difference to how special I feel my marriage is now. If anything my willingness to commit to DH despite a failed marriage makes it feel stronger and more special. It's not second best or anything, it's more "despite the shit last time, you're worth enough that I'll have another go".

Ours is more special as we are now married whereas DH and his ex were never married, just engaged. The one way I do feel less special though is that they had 3 children together and we dont have any together (not for the want of trying) that really gets to me. I feel that in that respect, his relationship with her will always be "more special".

Malibugirl - sorry to hear about the kids. I think it's always tough when you want a baby but can't have one.
