At what age do SC stop wanting to do the "every other weekend" thing with Dad?

Just some advice pls, at what age roughly do children start to want a more adult type relationship with their non resident parent? SD is 17 and stays over every other weekend and every Wed.

In my experience, at about the same time they get a job and some financial independence. Others I know rarely see children, step or otherwise, once they've gone to University. Are either of these things imminent for your SD?

On the other hand, my brother's son has just moved in with him and his partner full time (he's 17 too). Lots of arguments with his mum and stepdad.

No - she has no interest in her education and relies solely on her father financially. No interest in getting a job. Oh dear. Thanks for your advice.

Why is it a problem?

depends really. i used to like going to my dad's until i was quite an older teenager as he let me go out til much later than i was allowed at home. and he let me have as many friends as i wanted over. mainly cos he was out on the town himself.
