New to this - please help [smile]

OK posted under parenting yesterday but did not get an awful lot of responses so am trying this thread although I am not strictly a step parent.

My ex now has a new baby and my dcs have recently starting visiting sibling's home which includes new lady friend and her children plus their new sibling.

I am feel very jealous and insecure about it all and dont really just want some advice as to how deal and messages perhaps that it will get easier. I dont wont to upset my children by showing any jealousy/insecurity I want them to enjoy their new baby sibling.

My ex and I are on very good terms so no real jealousy over him and his new partner just kind of feel left out and dont want them to like being there more than being at home

DP and I have a 12 month old baby girl. DP has a 5yo DD from his previous relationship.
All I can say is the sisters get on beautifully and there can only be benefit to all concerned for them having a close, happy relationship.
I dont see DD5 as being a child of mine, she already has two parents. I care very much for her but do not want to fill mums shoes as it were.
All I can advise is try to keep positive ime kids can only benefit from a good relationship between all the people they love, mum, dad, siblings, grandparents and stepparents etc.

Awww, don't worry - they won't want to be there more than with you. My experience with dsd (7 when dd was born) was that she loved coming to see dd - but she loved going back to her mum too.

She is now 12 and very clear that she wants to be with both families and doesn't chose one over the other. She even turned down the chance for a short break in Cornwall with us because she hadn't seen her mum much this summer - which I thought was lovely.
