It sounds like an issue for your partner to work out with his ex

But they should be working out holidays in advance for next year. Maybe he should have a chat with her next April/May.

This isn’t your issue to sort. It’s between your partner and his ex. You shouldn’t be worrying about this or thinking about taking time off.

Leave them to it.

I don't always agree with the blanket, your partner should sort. In a long term relationship which is fully blended it becomes a household issue and whatever your partner decides will impact you. I do agree that communication should be done through the father though.

You say contact is changing to 50/50, what was it before? When was it decided it would be 50/50? Had there been any conversations about how that would look over the holidays? How would it be 50/50 if you both work?

It's not clear if you had a schedule all worked out and discussed this year and she's now decided to go away on one of her weeks or if you were moving to 50/50 but hadn't sorted details and she decided well I'll take this week.

I agree with @DaisyChain505don’t worry yourself with it. Not your children so why should you take on the stress of working out childcare arrangements.

What are you doing with regards to your own 2 children @Nic2300 ?
Are they with their mother for the whole summer?
