Adult DC milestones

I do get on my SS, he's lovely and doing well for himself which I'm very happy for him. The problem is my DH. I know he's proud, I get it but he goes on and on and on about how well his son is doing and any milestone (job, property, car) just amplifies his talking and bores me to death. I get it he is proud but he can't expect me to be on his level of excitement and how can't he see it? If I say something then I'm the one not tolerant enough. Argh! Rant over

Have you got children? Nieces, nephews, cousins, maybe some friends’ kids? Start rabbiting on about their similar achievements in response and he’ll get bored and change the subject soon enough!

It sounds like he’s proud and trying to make conversation, so it’s rude to just shut it down, but some equivalent chat will probably make him see just how uninteresting other people’s kids’ news is after the tenth minute or so.
