OMG I'm fuming

DSD 13 lives with her dad and me full time. Her mum asked to have her overnight yesterday so DH dropped her off at lunchtime (mum doesn't drive). She lives a good hour away from us.

About 2 hours later DH messaged me to say he was picking DSD up later that evening because her mum didn't want her because 'she's on her period and grumpy'

That was bad enough but DH was y due to pick her up until about 8:30 because he had plans but then he called me after picking her up to say she hadn't had any dinner. They weren't home until after 9:30.

I'm just venting because there's nothing I can do, but am I wrong in thinking you don't get to duck out of parenting because your teen is being...well a hormonal moody teen?

YANBU. Why is he even letting her go when her mum just dumps her after two hours? No wonder dsd was being moody!

I'd stop those visits. She's an unfit parent. Poor dsd

Better no mother at all than a mother like that. Same goes for "dad's" who behave like this.
Poor kid. Shit for everyone else to be yanked around too.

I feel your pain OP. It's similar for me as Step parent. I would, if you could, try to stop the visits. What positive parenting is your DSD going to get from 2 hours?
