My 14 and 16 year old daughters make fun of my fiance.

Are there any Mums out there who have made the transition from divorced Mum to remarried Mum?
It is 4 years since My ex and I divorced, my girls have always had me to themselves even when I was still married to their Father we spent a lot of time together as just the 3 of us.
The girls see their Dad on a regular basis. I am marrying again next year, but soon we will move into a new house with my fiance.
My girls are quite cruel about my fiance to me, making fun of him. They are reasonable towards him, but sometimes are moody with him. He is a good man and wants them to be happy. He has a daughter who lives with her Mother, but he sees her infrequently because of the distance between them. The problem I have is it hurts me alot to hear them putting him down, It feels like I am in the middle trying to please two sides, my girls and my fiance!
Any words of advice or reasurrance would be most gratfully received. Thanks xxx

Soory, have no experience, but I think your girls are being very dismissive of your feelings.

I think you should sit them down and leave them in no doubt how much their bahaviour upsets you - how would they feel if you behaved like that towards their boyfriends? Giving them the benefit of doubt, maybe this is just their way of dealing with their mum having a boyfriend - perhaps they're a bit embarassed or unsure about how to react...?

Either way, I think a frank discussion is called for. Good luck.
