This is boring to but I wanted to say that after 5 years of knowing my DSC they came to our house this morning with a mug which they had purchased out of their own pocket money. My first ever birthday present they had decided with no influence from either parent to buy me.

I am dead chuffed so bragging sorry.

This is lovely, congratulations on your mug Brew

Children are fully capable of making independent decisions about whom they care and when old enough they are capable of acting on these decisions.

Good for you and good for the child. It seems as though he cares for you, and seemingly you care for him. P

@Tattler2 yes that's why I'm so happy. I will drink out of it allll the time.

Ah that’s lovely is that.
Happy birthday and enjoy your brew.

Sometimes a gift is worth so much more than whatever the item is.

I wish my step mum had a reaction like this ❤️ they are lucky to have you x

Ah that is lovely. My DP was delighted when my DD brought him a Father's Day gift. It was her own idea, infact I had no idea she was buying him anything.

ProfessorPeach · 25/09/2021 20:38

Congratulations and how lovely for you. It’s good to hear a positive experience.

I love this! I received my first Mother’s Day card this year. It was handmade and had my name aaaallll over it. I’m still obsessed with it now.

That's lovely to hear. I'm twenty years in and have yet to see my name on a Christmas card!

Ididanamechange · 28/09/2021 20:42

Ah that's lovely OP. I remember when my stepson son was little and dh took him in to town with him. Dss saw a book about cats in a charity shop window and asked dh if he could get it for me. It meant so much that he thought of me and knew I'd like it and I still have it years later

AnotherVice · 28/09/2021 20:47

That's so nice OP, I dream of getting to this stage x
