Anyone who is familiar with or searches my post history will know I’ve had a particularly tumultuous time when my youngest SD (nearly 12) over the last few years.
I was seriously concerned over her lack of empathy and bullying of other children.

BUT I wanted to post a positive update! I’m not sure what has happened in the last few months but it’s like she’s had a complete personality transplant. She’s gone from being deliberately obstinate and defiant, to becoming this warm, kind and generally lovely person to be around.

For example yesterday, I had to have my nephews stay over at our house (9 months & 5yrs) due to a family emergency with my brother and SIL and SD has been the most wonderful and kind helper.

I think (perhaps?) is getting a family rescue dog has brought out all her kind, empathetic traits and she is being an all round delight.
She couldn’t help enough with my baby nephew, wanted to help my 5yo nephew and 6yo son (get stepbrother) get ready for bed. She helped with bath time, story time and making breakfast for the boys all without any asking or encouragement from me.

She wanted and enjoyed helping. She said “Oh you’ve got your hands full so I thought you’d appreciate the help” and even said “I love our family”.

I feel all warm and fuzzy inside today. I wish it was like this always!

Eldest SD (16) is still and angry hormonal horror this weekend but I’ll take every little win Grin

Happy weekend SMs!

Yes! LONG MAY THIS LAST Smile

Our little dog was unfortunately struck by a car on Wednesday and I was distraught. She’s ok and luckily escaped with only minor injuries but youngest SD’s first response after asking if the dog was ok was “Oh my God is sponge ok? I bet she is so upset!”

I feel like we’ve had a major breakthrough and its lovely
