Have to admit I am a bit nervous - DSS moving in

One month count down before DSS formally moving in and starting secondary school!

Tbf, we have been preparing for this for ages, like 3 years. Bought a house together to be closer to the kids and in the catchment area for a few great schools, prepared but failed 11 plus, got into our back-up plan......even I have great relationship with the kids and have been heavily involved in caring and parenting when they are around, I can't help myself being more and more nervous thinking about living with DSS full time......

If you have a great relationship already then that’s a perfect starting point. I would make sure you build in time just for yourself if possible, and even more importantly before he moves in, make sure your dp understands the importance of backing you up and presenting a united front.

Do you think you're as nervous as he is? Because I think he will be nervous too.

@Aroundtheworldandback Thanks. On the other hand, I/we may actually have more couple time because we will go for alternate weekends after he moves in! Now we have the kids the full weekend every other week and Fri-Sat every other week. Now we can finally go to Friday/Saturday drinks/house parties with friends/colleagues! Hooray!

@moredoll he is probably more nervous about going to a new school, and he knows moving in = more homework, more housework responsibility and more controlled xbox time. We will have to manage that carefully (part of the reason I am nervous too I guess).
