Just wanted to say a big thank you to all the lovely mums and step mums on this board. I've name changed but have spent the last 5 year listening and learning from everyones experiences and advise.
It never ceases to amaze me how kind, caring and articulate some of you can be in your posts. Swing and bananas in particular the help you have given me in your advise to others has been a life saver.
I have finally seperated from my emotionally abusive husband and will spend some time grieving for the loss of my amazingly relationship with my step daughter. Hopefully one day she will remember me as an adult and look me up.

I’m glad that you found the courage to leave if your husband was emotionally abusive. That’s very hard to break away from. I’m so sorry that it will mean distance from an important relationship with your DSD, can you write occasionally or would that be too tricky / hard? Does she know your email perhaps?

Good luck at least you’ve taken control of your own future. I hope it is bright!
