Is it ok to feel

I do not have any dc but we are trying. But every time my dsd come to stay I feel a bit low, it's like I wish she was mine and I know she can never be my child. I know she is my step child and I have no wish to replace her mother in anyway, but this feeling doesn't go. I love her to pieces and only want the best for her and she knows it.

You want your own baby, that's okay. Your dsd represents what you wish for yourself and without the hassle of ttc, pregnant, labour and the difficult early years!

She's not yours and she has a mum and a dad. You know that and can focus your energies into being the best extra parent to her. Being a step parent can be a hugely valuable and meaningful role. Hopefully your close relationship with her now will help you all bond when you have your own baby to add to the family.

Enjoy the adorable lovely bits of having a child in your life. And enjoy the time with your DP/DH when she's with her mum. Make the most of that time just the two of you for now and very good luck ttc Smile
