Childfree and delighted (is this wrong)

I care a lot for my DSC but I must admit, I am breathing a sigh of relief they are away back to the mothers. Am I the only one who feels like this? time for a large and a spring clean!

Of course it is not wrong. I think it is a healthy attitude to have - enjoy them when they are with you but enjoy time without them too.

That was the longest consecutive time I've spent with them. There was A LOT of muttering under my breath and more nagging than I thought I was capable of! It was fun but I would struggle to have them for that length of time again. Think I was on my last thread of patients before they left, smiling through gritted teeth

Probably if they were here more there would be a better routine and they would behave better, maybe not. Anyway, where did I put that

in my experience, it takes some adjusting, getting used to step kids, especially since I don't have kids of my own. When you're used to your own space and your own clean tidy place, being in control of all that goes out of the window with kids. You find yourself chasing your tail and repeating everything!! Takes some getting used to but getting that 'me' time back feels great - doesn't mean I don't love them or love spending time with them! Have a glass for me too!

Well I'm still not entirely great at it but I try my best, what more can you do this few weeks has stressed me right out, your is helping though lullaby

No YANBU in fact I would go as far as saying I'm well jel!!

All of my own and DH children were grown when we got together! I have to admit, I would never have moved in together (let alone get married) if DH had children young enough for 'visits'...I just couldn't have coped with it, and I take my hat off to those of you who do!!

Yes, Booby, I think that's how I would have felt if I'd ever had a man in my life with young children...which is why I didn't!

My own DS is grown up and married but my DSS is still in primary school. It's lovely to be child-free (DH and I still feel like we're kind of catching up for lost time and DSS can be so loud and seems to occupy every room in the house at once) but when he's not here I miss him. Stepmothers are wicked and never satisfied
