Things get better

I just wanted to share that I bloody love my step kids.

I met their dad when they were 13 and 15 and through various dramas (which I won't detail as they are their stories to tell not mine), they have become amazing adults.
My DSS passed his driving test last week and has just texted me about his new car, it has just occurred to me that when he has any news at all he texts to tell me, good or bad, before he even texts his dad. He doesn't need to do this, but does. which means that we are family, hasn't always felt like that (particularly with him) but it is great now. DSD is a wife and mum, and is great at both, so proud of them both.

I know that people often post on here when things are hard, but things can and do get better - honest!!

Ahhhh, that's so lovely.

My DPs DD said to me the other day as I was saying goodnight "can I let you into a secret? I really love you"...

Cue huge lump in throat!!
