Felt I needed to share. Had many ups and downs over the last 5 years - still do. Dss (15) unexpectedly put his arms round me and said he'd missed me today, aw. Just a reminder it can be worthwhile :)

That's really nice to hear. It does go right sometimes!

That's really great. I will never have that with my step kids but dh is out tonight and my dd 17 just asked when he is back, as she ''loves it when he's home''. At least I got something right!

I got a hug from 15yr old DSD after she'd opened all her birthday presents.

Who says you can't buy love? Blush

That is lovely Never!

Joining in the positivity: DSS and I aren't really huggy, but we did have a lovely weekend this weekend. Put up the Christmas tree together, visited a Christmas village, made his favourite dinner which won me lots of compliments! I feel good after this weekend - last weekend he was here I the pervading feeling I ended up with was guilt, for various reasons, (anyone else get that?) but this weekend was a good one.
