have been moving the girls room round today as we have had to get dd a second wardrobe as she has far too much stuff (mostly donated by 2 amazing friends) and to fit everything in i have had to move dsd's bed. underneath is fully of rubbish - literally rubbish. torn up bits of paper, sweet wrappers and broken McDonald's toys etc and a bag of unopened McDonald's toys from various trips with fil.

now when they were last here she was told to tidy up and take the rubbish out as she hadn't done ot for weeks and was whinging that she wanted some pocket money...she clearly has just shoved it under her bed and moved her beanbag and table to cover it from sight.

would I be the epitome of the evil step mum if I bin the bloody lot or dp i pile all the shite on to her mattress (which o have already done) and make her clean it up when they are next here which will be Friday.

Why would you be an evil SM for binning, um, rubbish?

BigPigLittlePig · 12/10/2014 20:46

For the past 2 weeks, unhappy with dsds "tidying", I have created a dsd "stuff mountain" - annoyingly for her, it is in front of her wardrobe, so she has to tackle it before she can get changed Grin . The first week, it came waist high, this week not quite so bad. She was a bit Shock at just how much there was left over after she had tidied....

wheresthelight · 12/10/2014 21:39

guitar - because she is ridiculously attached to the plastic crap from McDonald's and will probably have somewhat of a tantrum if I bin them!

big - i have currently done the same although way less subtle as it's all on her mattress so she has to tackle the whole heap of shit if she wants to go to bed!

I would bin it - step mum or not, then claim ignorance as you knew she had tidied up as had been asked before!

Did it with my DCS - did not notice for nearly a month, then shut up!

BigPigLittlePig · 12/10/2014 21:53

Oh there was nothing subtle lol...

wheresthelight · 12/10/2014 21:57

Haha whatever I like your thinking!

big you sound like a woman after my own heart Grin

I have piled all DS1's crap on his bed in the past.
Felt evil, wonderful and liberating all in one go.
Now when i say please tidy your room, it gets done and done properly :)

Do it Grin

Eliza22 · 13/10/2014 07:41

I'd put it all in a bin bag and give her one final chance to sort what she wants of it, and tidy it away (not shove it under her bed). If she doesn't, I'd put it all in the plastic recycling bin. Grin

However, I did this with a 17 yr old and all the crap I had to tip toe round to get to her wet towels/bedding etc on a weekly basis. I told her "sort it out or I will. With a bin bag". That was over 3 years ago and we haven't seen her since. I don't regret it. She used to roll up her vomit loaded clothes in a ball and shove them under bed. It took me a while to work out what the smell was.

Penfold007 · 13/10/2014 07:49

When she next stays with you tell her to bin the rubbish and put keeping stuff in a bag. Send the bag home with her.

LineRunner · 13/10/2014 09:02

I would bin the rubbish, and buy one of those under-the-bed plastic boxes (£3 at Asda) to put the small toys in, and slide it under the bed out of the way.

StercusAccidit · 15/10/2014 16:31

Agree with LR about the boxes
Boxes under the bed means no room for extra crap Grin

Eliza22 · 15/10/2014 18:44

Grin should have thought of that !

BigPigLittlePig · 15/10/2014 18:52

You would be surprised just how much can fit around and behind those boxes though.

Have deep cleaned dsds cave room today, v satisfying. Where do they get the little bits of plastic shit from though? WHERE?!

wheresthelight · 16/10/2014 00:15

God alone knows big!!!!

unfortunately ladies she has a high sleeper and fills ot with crap!!
