HELP!! I need B'Day gift ideas for dsd (8)

I need to go and get her presents but have no clue. DH is really busy and can't get away in time. She has a bike, TV/dvd, scooter, kindle, phone, Nintendo ds. She's at an age where I have no clue what's to young for her now. She has the latest DVDs I'm stuck!!! Any mums have an idea???

Jewellery making kits seem to go down well with girls that age. Also last 8yo girl I bought for wanted Littlest Pet Shop stuff, but we are in France so don't know if the trends are the same here!

We adopted an animal at the local safari park for dsd2 around that age (she's animal mad), the adoption pack came with 2 tickets so we also arranged a day out to go and see her name on the enclosure and got her a soft toy of the animal too.

I've just realised this is going to be harder than I expected as I have no idea what she already has

My dsd is a bit older but is massively into my little pony at the minute, would that be any good?

alternatively what about a set of books or a dvd?

why not get a few little bits and then let her choose something to do like laser quest/go ape/cinema depending on her interests?
