How to deal with stepson?

My stepson has been behaving badly recently. I am not sure how I should deal with his behaviour. DSS has left condoms on the floor in his room some have been opened and others sealed but all over his room. My own DS found one and was playing with it to my horror! What should I do?

I don't know about other behaviour but I would ignore that. It sounds like he is deliberately trying to get a rise out of you. I would not say anything unless it continues and then I would calming explain to him what is and isn't appropriate in your house. Other than that make sure all positive behaviour is praised and encouraged with attention. btw how old is he?

Yes and if it needs addressing, let his father do it.

What alita says! Although it might be worth expanding and saying that it's normal to be curious but could he just be aware that your ds is much too young to be playing with them so if he wouldn't mind you would love it if he could just put them away after he has played with them maybe. I wouldn't bother getting wound up, it really has no effect I am afraid!!

How old are the boys and what does his dad do about it?
