Apologies if this ends up as a long one, and for not posting for a bit, been v busy at work and v stressed out with dsd's.
It seems as though since we came back from holiday (without dsd's) that the good routine we had had has disappeared and never to return. Evenings used to be fairly civilised, dsd's were upstairs in their room playing quietly from about 7.45 until about 8.15 when it was lights out. They would be asleep within 10 minutes. But this weather has driven them and me crazy! It's been 9.30 before the have been asleep on school nights for about 3 weeks now. It was getting me so stressed I ended up shouting at them lots, and banning their chocolate biscuit from their lunch box most days! In the end dp and I moved their room about (separated the beds) and now let them decide when to stop playing. I so far for the past couple of nights it has worked. They are still not sleeping until 9.30 but they are happier and so am I , and strangely enough getting them up for school has been easier ?????? .
They are good kids really, all they needed was a bit of stability. They see their mum during the week after school and at least one night over the weekend. But something made me mad when they came back from mums last weekend. dsd2 had lost one (not both) of her school shoes. Apparently they'd looked everywhere and couldn't find it and were blaming their 2 year old half sister. It doesn't surprise me that things can go missing in their mums house, she is not the tidiest of people! She text dp to say I wasn't to have a go at dsd2 or her as it wasn't her fault....so who's was it then? Two days on and they still can't find it. Dsd2 has had to go to school in trainers for the last 2 days but I can't see them putting up with that until the end term. Who should go and get new shoes for dsd2, us to keep the peace or mum and stepdad because it was lost at their place? mum text dp today and said, that they would have to sell something to be able to get dsd2 new shoes! Which made me laugh as when we were all at sports day last Friday, mum proudly said, we're getting a new LCD TV on Monday, dsd2 is going to love it! wtf! makes me mad . If the shoe (excuse the pun) had been on the other foot she would of gone ballistic at dp and me!
Rant over. Feel better now.
